Default Putting the EVH Stripes on a 4X12 Speaker Cabinet?

Has anyone put the stripes on a 4X12 cabinet of theirs? I am thinking about doing it to my ivory EVH 4x12. If so can you post picks and maybe tell me about the process you used to do it?

I've never seen it, but it sounds like a cool idea.

I've not done it, and I have no idea how to advise you to do it...but one of the best things about the 2004 tour were Ed's cabs.

I have a much better pic of them at home.

That's my old pic and I still have the halfstack but both the guitars I painted are gone. The cab was white to start with so I just striped it up and shot the red on and after a few days taped everyhthing off and shot the black stripes. I have had that halfstack in storage for about 8 months. I need to get it out and start using it again.

I always wondered if he was in talks to make a new deal with Peavey to make his EVH gear when he added the EVH logo to his cabs and moved the Peavey logo to the side like that. I'm sure Hartley would never go for his name to be buried like that. Bad move for Peavey if the idea was was ever on the table.

Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread. I like the stripes on the cabs too. He should add those to his striped series line of products.

Ed's 2004 cabinets is where I got the idea to do this from. Love the way the cabs looked that tour.

How did you cover the grill cloth part of it? And what size tape did you use?

I was really careful and taped off the grill cloth and piping. I took off all the other hardware. I used green frog painters tape and hand cut most of the stripes. It took forever!!!!!! lol
