    Default Remaking "Point Break"

I couldn't find that Hollywood Remakes thread but I guess they're remaking Point Break. As Hitler once said, "Hollywood is shit out of ideas".

I didn't like Point Break...the acting was terrible...ya, I get, you don't go see THAT type of movie expecting academy nominations - but, it was over the top bad...Maybe that's why people like it I guess.

If people are going to remake movies that were campy (in a good way)...let me suggest Big Trouble in Little China (one of the last great Wes Craven movies) or Remo Willams.

Big Trouble in Little China was made by John Carpenter and not Wes Craven. =)

Craven made some good films... But he never really captured a mood or style with the exception of A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Please don't wish for such things. BTiLC is perfect just the way it is. Wow! Remo Williams... a cable classic that I haven't seen since the 80's. I do still think of it however... whenever I see Fred Ward in something.

When i think of Fred Ward I just think of Tremors. Such a campy and fun movie.

But "Point Break" isn't even an OLD film!!! Why don't they just start re-making them the moment they get released, and be done with it!?!

I wonder if people freaked out when a remake of Imitation of Life was made in 1959... a mere 25 years after the 1934 original. Imagine the outrage.

On that note, Wizard of Oz (1939) was of course based on a book but the first film adaptation came out in 1925. That is only fourteen years apart.

Uncanny! I just got back from adding the 1925 version to my Amazon Prime watch list, since I've never seen it. Sometimes those silent movies can be quite epic.

Tremors is my 'hung over' movie...for whatever reason, when I'm feeling the affects the next day, I pop that bad boy in.

    It's so awesome.
