    Default MLB 2015 Baseball Season

It is time to start up the 2015 MLB Regular Season.

Should be a great one. Starts tonight on ESPN2 with the Cards @ Cubs. Wainwright v Lester should be great. Cards vets vs the young Cubs should be interesting as well.

Full slate of games on Monday 4/6. Good luck getting any work done..... 4 games on ESPN and ESPN2 throughout the day from morning till late night.

    +++

Any Mods want to close the Hot Stove and Sticky this up.

It's an ODD year to the SF Giants are going to have a tough time repeating. Get back to me when it is 2016.

Still....... I get to enjoy this picture for the next year......

Cards v Cubs about ready. Pretty cool that they have the "Baseball tonight" crew out with all the crowd. Gives it a "college game day" feel with the pregame.
Maddon already has a twist with the Cubs lineup. Pitcher Jon Lester hitting 8th.

    Hey BSBBL4....

Wainwright looked pretty good on opening night with 6 scoreless. Also Cards fans have to like the addition of Jason Heyward, he had 3 hits, scored a run, stole a base.

Cubs still look a bit young. 2 errors and couldn't get the timely hits. You can see the potential though. Future will look even brighter when they bring up Kris Bryant and J Baez in about 12 days.

Since it is opening day. Had to pickup a few new hats at the New Era store.

Replaced my main SF Giants hat. Also picked up a Bluejays hat. Gotta help out Mike and my Canadian friends in their fight against Boston, NY and Bal......haha...

    ....

My kids went off the board. One picked Tampa Bay and one went Philly. WTF? lol...

Yeah the Cardinals looked like the Cardinals and the Cubs looked like the Cubs. Wrigley Field looked like a mess and smelled even more of piss than it usually does:

    http://deadspin.com/are-fans-at-wrig...ups-1695889115

I think the Cubs will be better than last year, but I'm not convinced they will be that much better. I heard they were 6-1 odds in Vegas to win the WS (due to all the hype and people betting on them). It's just crazy how large the expectations are on guys that haven't proven they can do it at the major league level for a full season. The delta on the Cubs is high, but their bottom isn't much higher than it was last year. Basically, I wouldn't be surprised if they finished 4-5 games below .500 and were in 3rd or 4th place.

To a rational person that would seem like a great year for the Cubs, but I think there's a load of people on the Northside that are going to be really disappointed. IF their young players are as good as advertised and IF they can get more pitching and IF they can stay healthy they could be a good team. Without all three they are the Reds and Brewers. With them they are the Pirates.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

Tanaka looked to still have diminished velocity. FB sitting around 89-90 mph. Got hit hard in the 3rd when the Jays hitters were starting to lay off the sliders/sinkers/splitters. They pulled him after 4 innings. I am sure they will have to watch him carefully all year after he opted for rehab instead of TJ surgery.

Encarnacion sure had a nice HR to the LF seats. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/4293009...n-shot-to-left

Hope the Padres enjoy 1/4 off the damn Braves this year. That kimbrel trade was a damn joke. I'm not convinced Hart knows what the hell he's doing.

The poor trade return was just part of getting rid of the horrible BJ Upton deal. If it was just Kimbrel getting traded they would have got a better return.

Braves are seemingly in a full rebuild now (aiming at 2017 and the new stadium). Signing Nick Markakis in the off season now makes even less sense if they were going full rebuild.

Pretty good night overall for Baseball. Even when a lot of the county was watching the NCAA Final 4.

SF Giants got a win on opening night. Madison Bumgarner was his DOMINANT self and picked up right where he left off in Game 7 of the World Series last year. 7 innings with only 1 ER, 3Ks.

Agitated that when my son and I walked into Hooters I had to tell them to put the Marlins game on! Don't know how many games were in progress when we got there probably around 630P, but only seemed to be one or two - the majority of the the were on talking head shows.

Hopefully the Dee Gordon adventures in base running will get better!
