God, Mike sounds awesome there, he hasn't lost a thing.

Unfortunately, it seems Sam is starting to succumb to age finally. Still great, but it just sucks that he can't hit those notes anymore.

I usually don't care for Vic's playing, but I thought he sounded really good there.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Vic's getting better at playing Ed. Tone and playing really good here.

Yeah, it reminded me of the RHRN DVD. I've never liked that.

I hate to say it but that was good. If that was actually the live performance with no "fixes" with Sammy's singing, Michaels back up harmonies that was great. I won't try to compare. But it it's not hard to imagine how it would sound if Eddie and Alex were there.

I've never cared for Vic's playing either, esp VH songs. George Lynch would have been a better fit in this band imo.

I agree. I am so happy Eddie is out playing and playing so well. A gift to us all. With that being said, now that we have seen 2 greatest hits tours with Dave (something else I am thankful for), given his horrendous (and embarrassing) performance, I would love to see Sammy and MA back for one more go 'round. Lots of great music to share with the world. It's nice to have had Dave around one more time and ADKOT will be here forever . . . but we don't need a third GH tour that doesn't measure up to the previous 2.

Jesus. I was thinking "Women in Love" when I clicked the thread and the first thing I see is DD saying how good Mike sounds. I thought I lost my mind for a moment!

I enjoyed that. Nothing wrong with both eras being represented with no overlap.

Speaking of, here's a question I've never thought of or seen brought up. Dave did tons of VH when he was out of the band and so has Sammy. Has Gary ever even sung one song from VHIII on his own anywhere that we know of since 1998?

Ok, I'm too lazy to research it. They filmed this show but it's only going to be released on CD? Is that correct?

Well, now I realize that it's edited from different shows. I'm confused.

Agreed. Sam still sounds great. Different, but great. And the difference is acceptable considering he's almost 70! And there's nothing like the Hagar/Anthony vocal combo.

I've never cared for Vic's playing either, but you can tell he's been brushing up on his EVH licks. Tone is way better too. Something about the feel is still off, but it's not distracting like I used to find his playing.

Edit: Man, I've been focused so much on the DLR catalog lately that I've forgotten how great the Hagar era VH tunes are. I think I'll rock my "Best of VH/Hagar" playlist on the drive home today.

It was good but God I am tired of this song like Jump, ATBL, YRGM and Panama

Vic did a better job with this however if one is going to copy Ed, this song is pretty easy. He said he was trying to be Clapton during the solo and the rhythm is really basic.

Sam and Mike sound good. Chorus sounds good.

Yes Sam is a better singer and Mike is Mike. Still prefer VH M4.0 Have absolutely zero interest in hearing Best of Hits by Sammy, Zeppelin and Van Hagar. No hate. Just no interest. Now if they played deep cuts by Van Hagar, it would be cool but then again Vic would be a problem. What we have hear is like 2004 VH. Great singer, great bassist, solid drumming and guitarist fumbling around trying to be Eddie. Well ok Vic fumbling around is still better than 2004 Van Halen.

    Bring back Chickenfoot!!!!!
