35 years ago around this time- mid March to mid April 1980 these classic albums were released:

    Heaven and Hell-Black Sabbath
    Animal Magnetism-Scorpions
    On Through the Night-Def Lep
    British Steel-JP
    Empty Glass-Pete T.
    Women and Children 1st-VH
    Progressions of Power-Triumph
Let the Music Do the Talking-JPP
    Iron Maiden debut

Remember going to the record store every few days back then and buying another kickass album, good times. Still listen to all these albums today and they sound even better now!

Still my all-time favorite Black Sabbath tune ...

"It's so lonely at the top because it's so crowded at the bottom" - Diamond David Lee Roth

"If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you"

"Be careful what you wish for because you just might lose what you already have"

    Fuckin' classic.

"He has a swaggering retro machismo that will give hives to the Steinem cabal" -Camille Paglia on Donald Trump

"Make way for the bad guy"- Tony Montana

'This hamburger don't need no helper"- David Lee Roth

"I wish Bon Jovi would've given me a call before he recorded all of his hits, because the lyrics would've been smarter, the melodies would've been much more smashing, and they would've sold a lot fewer records." -David Lee Roth

"My beef is people thinking Bon Jovi is good cuz they sold lots of records to housewives." -tango

"But being number one doesn’t really mean jack fuck all. We sold twice as many records as other records that year (1984) that landed in the Number One position." ~Eddie Van Halen

    Mine too.

Though, I do still get a chuckle out of the "dragons and kings" line. It's such a stereotype for RJD.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

If only he could have worked "rainbow" into that line ...

Instead of "circles and rings", next time you are singing along to it in your car, just sing "rainbows that sheen".

    That'll do the trick!

Na, that wasn't released in the March-April time frame he's using.

But yeah, take the entire year and it's a classic album bonanza!

Saw the Michael Schenker Group Tuesday nite with Herman Rarebell and Frank Bucholz. They didnt play anything off Animal Magnetism but the show was awesome. Michael is on top of his game right now.

    April 25,1980

I bought this the day it came out. I had heard Neon Knights a few days before on the radio and was blown away. Ozzy leaving Sabbath was a HUGE deal back then, no one thought BS could go on without Ozzy. The last few BS albums weren't heavy like the early ones. Dio reinvented the band, it was heavy, the tempos were faster and it just rocked like a monster. That album cover is so badass too. DIO RIP
