It's a toss up for me. Heart or Phil Collins.

    Heart .

The answer to that question is easy: Pentagram's self titled debut.

These guys were the American version of Black Sabbath & had they been able to keep their shit together, would have been huge.

HaHa i voted Ratt..But somehow did not notice INXS..It would have came down to those 2 for me and sitting here don't know if I would have changed my vote...But I do think INXS was awesome and I hate the way it ended up..No one wants to found dead after beating their meat...

What Is The Greatest Album Of 1985?

    AFTERBURNER - ZZ Top
BEHIND THE SUN - Eric Clapton
BROTHERS IN ARMS - Dire Straits
    CENTERFIELD - John Fogerty
THE DREAM OF THE BLUE TURTLES - Sting
    THE FIRM - The Firm
    HEART - Heart
INVASION OF YOUR PRIVACY - Ratt
    LISTEN LIKE THIEVES - INXS
NO JACKET REQUIRED - Phil Collins
    POWER WINDOWS - Rush
    SCARECROW - John Mellencamp
SOUL TO SOUL - Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble
SOUTHERN ACCENTS - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
THEATRE OF PAIN - Mötley Crüe

    I've got most of these...
I don't have the Clapton, Sting, Phil Collins & SRV albums.
I'd probably pick the Tom Petty album...
“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

George Strait - Something Special ("The Chair"). Featuring former Toto bassist David Hungate...

Okay, seriously. Scorpions, World Wide Live. Who didn't have that cassette in a boom box?

From the provided list, I'll go with JCM's "Scarecrow"....

I had Scarecrow on vinyl when it came out, but I'll go with Sting: Dream of the Blue Turtles.

Not much in the way of slackers on that list, and it still doesn't include:

    Aerosmith Done With Mirrors
    AC/DC Fly On The Wall
Big Audio Dynamite This Is Big Audio Dynamite
Cheap Trick Standing On The Edge
    Hooters Nervous Night
    Mike + The Mechanics
    Robert Plant Shaken 'N Stirred
Simple Minds Once Upon A Time
    Talking Heads Little Creatures

but the winner ultimately has to be:

    Billy Crystal Mahvelous! (j/k!)
