Default so what will the band actually play during the TV appearances?

not sure if they are only doing one song on Ellen (plus interview?) or if they'll get to play more....

same for Kimmel show or wherever else they end up playing.

assume they will just playing one song, and it will be some big hit that's included on the live album... kinda feel it wouldn't be "Jump" (or hope not).

    Panama? Unchained?

will they pick ONE and just knock that same one out at each TV stop, or will they actually vary it a bit?

Has the Kimmel show been confirmed?

Panama or Jump would be my guess.

    For Ellen?

what is the target audience for that show? House wives and soccer moms-not ragging on the show for that, it is what it is. What VH song do most house wives and soccer moms know from the Dave era? Jump....maybe Panama or HFT. which one will they most likely be doing? I would put money on Jump as everyone knows that song.

Kimmel has not been confirmed, but FWIW, the only reason we know about the Ellen appearance is that it popped up on her schedule for the week of March 30th. Her schedule is announced a few weeks ahead of time, whereas Kimmel's schedule is released the Friday before... In other words, VH was able to tell Atomic Punks to remove their tweet but they can't get Ellen to alter her schedule.

We'll see on Thursday night/Friday when his guests are announced.

The problem with Jump is that while it works to pipe in keyboards in concert, because it's usually a huge arena and a song that needs to be played so it's acceptable, I don't know how well that will work in a somewhat intimate setting of a few hundred people and small stage.

Panama, RWTD and Unchained are the released singles, and most mainstream... H4T is close and allows Dave to mingle... those are the four frontrunners. You Really Got Me is another hit.

Darkhorses, for Ellen only = Pretty Woman, She's the Woman, Ice Cream Man, Beautiful Girls

agree, i think it wont be Jump.

just cuz the casual/demographic audience "all know Jump" doesn't mean they should play it. i'd argue the opposite: show them you have songs other than "Jump."

Unchained would be their best choice (imo) and would represent them well. Dave can sing this, and they have practice performing this song right out of the gate.

I wish they would stay away from Jump, YRGM, etc. and play You and Your Blues, Stay Frosty or something that the small in-studio audience would respond to AND get people interested in seeing them live this year (beyond us hardcores). What's the risk? Or maybe one standard and one that's not been on the set list for awhile? If they're playing electric, I would think a lot of their CVH tunes would be too high-velocity for the women in the audience. And if they go acoustic, Dave is going to have to be on his game - and forget about the California reacharound references...

I would love to hear you and your blues, but man--the vocals are tough on that one....

Blood and fire would also be cool, but same deal there......

With the audience type Ellen brings to the table, and I know it will not happen, Right Now would be the one they all know outside of Jump IMO

I'm thinking they'll play something off of ADKOT, I'd bet She's the Woman or Stay Frosty
