Default My repainted seafoam EVH Wolf is coming along.

Just got this from Pat Wilkins a min. ago and it's being shipped out today.

I gave him the paint code from my wife's BMW, which is atlantic blue. Wolfetone Marshallhead pickups are on their way, big brass block is install on the Floyd and I hope to be playing this within a week. Will update this thread as parts arrive.

I'll be curious to see how it looks in the flesh. Mrs. Lee's car is a 2008 and has seen a lot of hours in the AZ sun. So it's probably lighter than this color. But then every seafoam Wolf I've seen on the Internet looks different depending on the angle at which it's photographed. Maybe I'll hang the body out back for a few days, as it's always really sunny here.

That is a beaut. Gotta say though that the first pics you posted of the guitar vs the car they didn't even look close to my eyes. Something about the way the light was hitting the guitar made it look waaaaayyyyy lighter. That is gorgeous though.

If you don't mind me asking who did this for you and at what cost? I have a black peavey pat pending wolf that took a hard blow resulting in a deep dent ( basswood really is soft!) that I tried to fill sand and repaint and it looks like crap. Think about doing something similar as you.

That turned out great! Did you have him paint the back and sides, or is it black past the binding?

Pat Wilkins did it for $300. He only did the top and binding. The rest is still black.

Nice! Can't wait to see it fully assembled. I think the color turned out great.

Question. I'm assuming Mrs. Lee's car is a little lighter than this stock paint code due to seven yrs. of driving in the relentless AZ sunlight. If this body arrives and I find it to be a tad too dark, would be a bad thing to leave it out in the sun for a few days? I know the early EBMM EVHs didn't have a UV blocker in the stain, so they faded, even if it took years. I would think three days in direct AZ sunlight at 80-90 deg. ambient would not only lighten the color a little, but also cure the paint a little faster. What say you guys?

I THINK an automotive paint would naturally have a UV block in it. If so, I don't think just a few days in the sun would fade it.

That would be my guess as well .

Ok, just waiting on Wolfe to finish making my pickups. This paintwork is beyond excellent. Geezus, it's as good as it gets. Worth every dime.
