I was just thinking about this album the other day. First, scrap AAB altogether. The other three needed better lyrics and they would have made a great album a stellar album.

This is by no means my least favorite Van Halen song, but I really don't care for it …

"It's so lonely at the top because it's so crowded at the bottom" - Diamond David Lee Roth

"Political correctness is fascism pretending to be manners" - George Carlin

"Women and Children First ... The REAL Van Halen III"

I always thought that Seventh Seal was a disappointing opening track for Balance.

Beyond disappointing. I actually hate that song but I love Big Fat Money. Go figure.

I like, don't love, both Seventh Seal and DTMWLCD. Big Fat Money is meh, sometimes I listen to it, sometimes I skip it.

The real turds on Balance for me are the godawful paint by numbers CSLY and Not Enough.

Seventh Seal is pretty good. The best two tracks are Amsterdam and Aftershock.

Aftershock is the best song. Feelin, the majority of the song is pretentious crap, but the pre solo breakdown is vintage VH and the solo is the best of the entire Sam era.

Amsterdam has a great riff and opening syncopation by the brothers, and I don't even mind almost all the lyrics. But the ridiculously idiotic "wham! Bam!" part is especially embarrassing, even for Sam. Good solo though, and the extended live outro solo by Ed on that tour was simply stellar.

    Love that tune.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!
