When asked about a possible box set at the golf tournament, wasn't Eddie's response something like "You think they'd ask us first."?
"One of the reasons I left Sabbath was because Van Halen was blowing us off the stage every night. It was embarrassing." -Ozzy Osbourne

"When I first heard "Runnin' With The Devil" on the radio, I was stunned and found myself dizzy, walking through my high school hallways thinking, "What was THAT?!"
Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.
If aliens came down and challenged us to a Battle of the Bands to decide the fate of Planet Earth, I would feel very confident putting early Van Halen forward as our champion." -Tom Morello

Hit Parader is the National Enquirer of music magazines.

90% of their info is past history by the time it hits the newsstands.
"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."

"This is a lttle prayer dedicated to the separation of church and state. I guess if they are going to force those kids to pray in schools they might as well have a nice prayer like this: Our Father who art in heaven, and to the republic for which it stands, thy kingdom come, one nation indivisible as in heaven, give us this day as we forgive those who so proudly we hail. Crown thy good into temptation but deliver us from the twilight's last gleaming. Amen and Awomen. ."

"I think it's the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately."

    -George Carlin 1937 - 2008

As reported in the latest issue of Hit Parader
This issue has Jonathan Davis from Korn on the cover.
(it seems no one has mentioned that here):

From a source very close to the band, a box set is certain.
There is a possibility that some new songs may even be included!

Vince is right on the ball. Hit Parader is hardly a reliable source for info.

Yep. That's what Eddie told me at the golf tournament.

Given all the wait I can assure you that there is serious talk about the box set coming out around October 2002 or November 2002.

This is a Warner Bros venture. Eddie was not invited to participate on what the box set will contain.

Originally it was only supposed to be the Van Hagar era albums that were going to be remastered to complete the first six that were re released, but that changed quickly once Warner Bros. and Van Halen split.

I guess WB figures it would be a better way to make top dollars with a box set. Throw a few unreleased songs, with a few posters and a little charm in there and you have a home run.

As for Blotcher: whatever dude. The rumor mill is that way ->. Take it somewhere else.

As for me personally, I hope WB does do this box set if it's true. I don't want more "packaging" from the band if they were to do it. BOV1 sucked in its presentation.

I hope they do release it too.

Do you guys think that they will have unreleased stuff from all three versions of VH?

    Back off full butt!

Rhino Records handles all the catalog stuff now for Warner Bros, Atlantic, and Elektra (WEA distribution group), so there will almost certainly be more "Best Of VH" packages, but not too sure about a full multi-disc Box Set with unreleased stuff.
