Not as of yet . They are listed on the Long & McQuade website , as out of stock and expected delivery is roughly 30 days ...

I played one at the local GC, it was ok, I wasn't impressed with it. The setup, or lack there of, turned me off. Played kinda like a regular Wolf but seemed cheaper, which it is. I think I'd rather spend the extra dough and get a regular Wolfgang if I was in the market for a new guitar. For the money I guess it's ok.

Are you talking about the Special or the Standard?

There are some in a few Guitar Centers. If you call they'll be able to tell you where.

After a proper setup mine is stellar. Out of the box it wasn't bad, but now the action is slammed and it smokes.

I haven't seen the new Special in person yet either. I did happen across a new Standard at a GC in Chicago. Seemed to play pretty well, although the volume pot was loose. It's actually a very good guitar considering it's price point. That being said, you can find the previous generation of Wolfgang Specials out there for the same price as a Standard. Between the two, you would have to be stupid not to pick up the old Special that has a case, stainless frets, the FR1000 and the genuine Wolfgang USA pickups.

I would have to get my hands on the new Special to see if it would be something I would be willing to trade my 1st Gen Special for. At this point, I kind of doubt that I would, but you never know until you get your hands on one.

I bought a MIC Special 10 days ago for $599 at the local GC. I was used, but with no signs of use whatsoever, plastic on control cavity covers, not a scratch, nothing. Came with a new looking case too. Can't beat that. It plays way better than the MIJ one I bought a year earlier.

You know what, I'm sorry, now that I think about it, I think it was the Standard. Ooops

Shipping has been delayed due to the fact that 90% of Mexico now resides in the U.S.A. !!!

I was in a shop a few months ago, and they had three of the new Made in Mexico Specials.

Quality looked good, nothing incredible though. Neck seems similar to the Indonesian Wolfgang Standards now being made, and the archtop was barely passable as an archtop.

If you were to compare them to the older Japanese or Chinese Specials, they were close to on par. I've seen some MIJs that are great and some not so good. It seems the MIC ones have greater consistency than the MIJs.

Comparing back to the Peavey Wolfgang American Specials and American Standards, there is still no comparison to the first Wolfgang's in my opinion.

I did not plug in or play the MIM ones, just picked it up and looked at it. I have never tried an American Fender version so I can't comment on how it compares to that. One of my favorites still is my Peavey WG Standard, it plays as nice as it looks and I consider it a work of art.

How so? The arch top on mine is killer. My father-in-law has a lot of woodworking experience and noted that the top dips back down from the standard curve right before the binding. Apparently, this is a technique that helps cause a certain glare/sheen on the finish to help make the shape/edges pop more and the overall top look better. You can see it a bit in the pic of mine below. Seemed like pretty killer attention to detail to me.

I was solely going by the ones I saw, perhaps yours may be better.

It was not as pronounced as my Peavey Wolfgang Standard.

Considering each of these does go through a certain amount of handwork, I am wondering if yours received more attention than others?

PS: really nice! I just committed to one too, as I've wanted a black cherry version.
