Default Probably gonna paint my EVH Wolf. Spec seafoam.

I snagged a like-new EVH Wolf Spec. w/case at the local GC for $599 today and might make it a project. It's black, so pretty plain jane, but in perfect shape. I'm wondering if I can get the top sprayed in seafoam, keep the binding white, edge and back black for a reasonable price. I don't think I want it all seafoam, which would probably be cheapest. But could a real pro keep the binding and paint the top?

Good luck with it . Seafoam has never been one of my personal favs , but it's not my guitar . Looking forward to hearing more replies . Wondering what the procedure/cost would be to do that ; remove the top clear coat , refinish/paint a new one , and regloss it . I'd also want to keep the binding as it is , with black sides and back .

I think that will look great! I've thought about doing a Wolf the same way... leave the back, sides, and binding, and then stripe the top.

Congrats on the new guitar and good luck with the project!

contact pat wilkins at http://www.wilkinsguitars.com. He completely refinished an ebmm evh in natural for me last year for $300. That included prepping, sanding and a complete refinish of the front and back of the body. It was beat to death when I sent it and when it came back you couldn't tell the factory didn't do it.

I talked to Pat today. He wants $300 and said he'll strip the top only, tape off the rest, spray it and then re-apply the binding. He sounded like it'd be a piece of cake. My wife's BMW E92's color is called atlantic blue and looks identical to the PV seafoam. So I think I'm gonna get him the paint code and he'll just use it. Now, while I have it all apart, I'm thinking of swapping out the pickups for DiMarzios Air Norton and Air Zone. They're a direct drop-in with the feet and a relative bargain at $70/each. I'd sell the stock pups. Can decide. I don't want to make too much of a project out of this, but this is the time to do it if I'm going to.

    Unsolicited opinion, but:

Seafoam front, WITH white binding AND black sides/back?!? Sounds like the tits to me. And it definitely won't be a run-'o-the-mill Wolf, either.

...now all you need is EVH to come out with a limited edition Seafoam D-Tuna to tie it all together...

my old seafoam green, Probably one of my favorite Wolfgangs that came through my hands. Are you going to have him put the fine metal flake in it like Peavey did?

I gave him the paint code for my wife's car, which looks identical, but said to use whatever he thinks is closest to the OEM Peavey color.

Now I'm trying to decide on pickups. I'm pretty sure I'm going with an Air Norton and Air Zone, but can't decide whether to get all black, all cream or zebra. Anyone good with Photoshop?
