Diver Down deserves to be in the top ten on the strength of Secrets, The Full Bug and Little Guitars all by themselves. Exactly where is up to individual interpretation. Anyone who disagrees with me is clearly wrong.

I note that these are studio albums and still LRHRN isn't there, which easily makes it the worse album, so bad it doesn't even rate a mention.

Not only has this been done to death, now they expect us to watch a five minute video on it. No thanks. Let me guess... Fair Warning rocks, Van Halen III sucks. Wow!

Diver Down is a great album.

The only reason it gets shit on here is because Eddie shit on it back in the 80's.

I don't have a dislike for covers. Big Bad Bill is one of my favorite VH tunes. Jan Van Halen rocks.

I think the list they gave was pretty spot on for me, VHIII I guess would be at the bottom of my list, but I actually quite like that album it has some great stuff on it. It was the first VH release I was actually around for so it might hold some bias for me. I bought it on cassette and cranked fire in the hole for months!

At one point I pretty much thought every VH album was great outside of 3. However over time some have went from great to good. Only one went from good to great for me and that was Diver Down. I hated it because Eddie dogged it. As I got older I finally realized it was a great album even if it had a few covers on it. On the other hand, OU812 has fallen in my eyes.

not a fan of DiverDown, there's parts of it that I love: hang em high, the Fullbug, Little Guitars. I never got secrets...sorry, I don't think it's a bad song I just hardly ever listen to it. I threw OU812 in my CD player when I got my "new" car and I love that disk nowadays, I always liked it but for me it's gotten better over the last couple of years.

RHRN > VHIII IMHO just on the power of WGFA, the cover of One Way to Rock and a few others that I think they sound fantastic on...I know most of it was done in the studio but I still dig those tunes.

Won't Get Fooled Again and One Way to Rock are the only two songs I listen too off of RHRN.

I don't care if it is in the studio, Sam hitting that note (you all know which one I am talking about 5:35) in WGFA and Mike's reaction to it is just pure awesomeness.

I just have to say this about everybody's continual slamming of Sam on there lately. I prefer DLR too, but hot damn, you have to give the man credit where it is due, he is a powerhouse vocalist. The man can wail.

Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Amen brother. I hate now that if there is an ARTICLE that I might want to read, a damn video starts. I would rather read it in most instances.

You can add me to the group who only listens to WGFA and One Way to Rock off of LRHRN. Thankfully they put that Who cover on that album! I remember when that album came out I listened to it constantly. Hell it was a new VH product. But there was always that feeling that something wasn't right with it; that it could/should have been better.
I did enjoy the jam at the end of Finish What Ya Started (I just wish they added a jam to more songs).

I love Ed's playing at the end of FWYS.

I listen to Dreams off of RHRN a bit and Judgement day is really good. I would say if you pressed me that I dig Poundcake, Judgement Day, Dreams, One Way to Rock, WFGA the YRGM/Cabo Wabo medley and maybe ATBL.

the stuff for the most part is just too similar to the studio versions, and like I said in another thread, VH was very capable of putting out a great live record at this time they just nit picked this to death cleaning it up, it's too clean, it's too perfect, too mistake free.

what would have been really cool would have been if they did the surprise gig at the whiskey, recorded that and released it as a live record and just let it all hang out instead of the live package we got.

the pics that were included in the CD booklet were great...lol

In a similar vein, I would have preferred the 2012 Cafe Wha? gig over 2013 Tokyo Dome Live.

I like how the guy said "rarely do you have a sequel as good as the original, but Van Halen 2 comes close" when speaking on VH II but has it as number 5 (middle of the pack) on the list and Van Halen as #1. Going by his logic VH II should have been #2 or #3 at worst. I disagree with the majority of his order.
