Default Looking for Lossless "Unchained Monsters" (VH3 era 1998 Hershey PA show)

I am looking for someone who has the original silvers of Unchained Monsters, a soundboard recording of a 1998 VH3 era show in Hershey PA.

I just want FLAC or AIFF copies of the discs, not the discs themselves (although if you are willing to part with the discs, I certainly would be willing to discuss it). I have an mp3 version of the show, but am hoping to get a version in higher quality.

    Thanks in advance!

I was at that show. I would love a copy too. There was a rumor back then that it was going to be released.

hey guys, are there any "good" 1998 shows? i mean good mix of sound quality and performance of course. just started listening to III. it's not great obviously but certain things are okay. and Gary "sounds" fine it's that the material is subpar. curious how he sounded and was received on tour. did they just do a full mix of Sam/Dave stuff along with some III stuff?

i haven't looked on Dime or elsewhere yet, figured you guys could point me to the best show.

Not sure about audio only boots , yet there are several nice quality video clips on Youtube .
For all the flaws in logic surrounding the 1998 album , the live tour was fantastic !

yea, i thought i'd read around here on various threads that the tour was good. wasn't sure if i was imagining that. been youtubing III at work lately... started thinking "wtf is wrong with me.... i'm repeatedly listening to VHIII?!?!?!?"

been on a big Van Hagar kick lately too... kinda missed the 3rd/4th albums at the time they happened.

Jamtothis, DIME and thetradersden all have a few 98 shows if you want to DL some FLACS. Guitars101 has mostly mp3s.

Here are the ones I thought were the BEST quality and I saved:

Live at the 10 spot – 4/20/1998 Sydney, Australia
    Auburn Hills 98 – 5/19/1998 Auburn Hills, MI (2cd)
    Corestates Spectrum – 5/24/1998 Philly, PA (2cd)
Unchained Monsters – 7/26/1998 Hershey, PA only (2cd)
    Pineknob 98 – 9/3/1998 Clarkston, MI (2cd) (FLAC)
Unchained Love – 10/20/1998 Hiroshima, Japan (2cd) (FLAC)
North Attack – 10/26/1998 Morioka, Japan (2cd) (FLAC)
Last Night at Judo Arena – 10/30/1998 Tokyo, Japan (2cd)
    New Halen 1102 – 11/2/1998 Yokohama, Japan (2cd) (incomplete)

You do have to register in order to be able to download the tracks. I did the same yesterday. After registering, the site says you have to wait on a confirmation email, but I simply logged in an hour or so later with the name and password a had chosen and was able to go through the sub-forum for VH boots.

But: without their confirmation email, you can only browse and download. You cannot do a search for certain shows. That sight hat pages and pages and pages of stuff. I was always looking for a live recording of Dirty Water Dog since it was not often played (perhaps even only during the Japanese shows?), luckily finding it in the Osaka show from 1998, but found so much stuff I had to stop looking further for others.

The songs from the "New Halen 1102" show in Yokohama were great, IMO. Downloaded only selected tracks, such as Josephina or Year to the Day - but YTHD that night was killer and spot on musically. The live versions brings out even more sadness and emotion.

Yes. It was from The Album Network. I believe that Unchained Monsters came from the radio broadcast.
