Default Yamaha THR10x - VH tones test

Such a cool little home practice/recording amp. I used my Peavey Wolfgang and the Brown 1 model on the amp. Panned it left, and added a wet reverb track panned hard right. I'm really starting to dig recording with the THR10x into Cubase. Still have a ton to learn though.

That sounds great dude, really nice tone and playing. I've seen these amps before and I've always been curious about them. How do they feel? The problem I always have with modellers is not the tone but the feel. Pods feel dead to me, like I'm not connected to anything, if that makes any sense. Most modellers do, at least for me.

I know exactly what you're saying! Try explaining the "feel" thing to someone who isn't a guitarist

I've had a bunch of modellers (Fender Mustang, Line 6 Spider Valve, Peavey Vyper, Vox Valvetronix), and none had the right feel. This little Yamaha totally has it! Dynamics galore! I'm absolutely loving it.

Just listened to that clip of yours . Very good tone you got !
Nice playing too . I was impressed with the song excerpts you chose . That Yamaha unit seems pretty cool for what it is . Nice score

I'm working on another recording with a backing track. Still need to polish it up.

Well...I am $325.00 poorer now. Should be in by the end of the week. If this is as good as it seems for early brown sound...I will have to thank you ledvedder for the heads up.

Shit my wife is going to kill me. I just cleaned my credit card but I'm like one foot off the cliff about to buy this thing. It seems perfect for just jamming around the house. Damn GAS.

I have the THR10X and it's the best gear I've bought for years! Incredible tone and GREAT feeling at very low volume.
I've done this cover 2 years ago with it:

Very , very good job !
I love some of the fills you threw in there . Your ad libbed solo had a lot of cool bits . Nice playing all around . Very smooth

So I have had it for a hour now...and It's a keeper! I can tell already. Anyone want to tell me there settings for VH 1 or panama? From the little I have messed with it...I am kinda digging power 1 over brown 1 or 2...but that is just with my kick around Ibanez, I'm gonna plug in my Kramer 5150 now. The only things so far I don't like is that you can use delay OR reverb not both. But as mentioned the hall reverb really does kick some booty! And I cant stand the army green color. It seems easy to take the cover off it, so as soon as it gets warm enough I will be getting out the tape and spray cans... I am thinking something red/black and white, with some stripes.
