Today, in non-Music, I spent a good 20 minutes trying to search for a particular thread. The thread is titled, "New Mexico Court:Christian Photographer Cannot Refuse Gay Marriage Ceremony."

My very first search was "photographer gay wedding" without the quotes. No results searching titles only. I tried every possible combination of words (Sometimes just one word) to find this thread as I KNEW we had discussed this on here at one time.

Anyway, every single search gave me zero results. So I moved to google and searched "vhlinks.com gay wedding photographer" without the quotes and the link to the thread was the first result.

My point is, I almost never find anything with the internal search engine. Last time I brought up an old thread, I went through the non-music forum page by page in chronological order until I found it, after no success searching.

I guess what I am getting at is--am I doing something wrong?

My experience is that vBulletin forums are hit or miss when it comes to internal searches. Many times I just use Google with the forum name tacked on, eg. "van halen chicago 2008 vhlinks" and am successful at finding what I'm looking for. I'm not sure what kind of algorithm vBulletin uses, but I think the fewer words the better. I typed in "new mexico wedding" and the thread you were looking for was the third result. That being said, since Brett rebuilt the search index a few days ago, searches are much more successful now than they have been.

Search is as good as it's ever gonna be on here. There literally is nothing more I can do. I totally rebuilt it and it actually worked this time. So this is it and from what I can see it's a lot better than it's ever been.

Might be a good time with all the Live CD traffic to remind people we are a member supported fan site ?

To be honest I wasn't complaining. In the advanced search there are lots of options and I just thought maybe I was doing it wrong. I appreciate the work you've put into the site.
