Status of Chickenfoot - Still Frustrating

It's pretty bad that this is the first thread in over a month.

Checking in on what the band members are up to- it doesn't look good for CF fans.

Sam - Working with Listen Carefully (good on him!), posted this pic. https://www.facebook.com/listencaref...type=1&theater Looks like a video recording of some sort. And of course, the recent news of a radio show plus a few shows.

Joe - Working on a new album! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...2139058&type=1

Chad - Appears to be resting up for a new Chili Peppers album release and tour. http://www.nme.com/news/red-hot-chili-peppers/81710 Even he admits "But, as far as what I'm doing, I'm just playing my same old beat that I've been doing for 25 years, faster and slower." I think he may be growing tired of RHCP.

As far as Mike - We've all seen the rumor. I think it's crap.

Where is the band going? I'm not sure anyone knows. I know Joe cares, but I wonder if anyone else does?

I am just afraid that all momentum with the Foot is gone, and they are done.

    Unfortunate, what a great band.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

I can't say it is surprising. Sam was so vocal about the chemistry that it sounded forced--at least to me. I love the first album and felt that III kind of fell flat.

Seems most of them, except for Satch, lost interest in the CF project. Perhaps hopes were too high and got disappointed?

Any momentum they had quickly died down. And the longer the hiatus lasts, the less I ever see a chance of any more CF. Hope they prove me wrong - but I am not keeping my hopes up.

Sadly reminds me of "High Hopes" on "Unboxed"...

CF was my new VH. I loved them. Both their albums was miles better than "VHIII' and even "ADKOT". They had a good connection with the fans too and didn't leave us in the dark like that other band....
    NOW its the end.....just sad.
I just hope Sam still has some rockin' shoes left in him and gives us a record soon that gets me on my feet again.

I’m not going to criticize the band’s music or anything else. I thought both albums were top notch.

I do agree with Sek that they (and in my mind, specifically Sam) were disappointed with the lack of success. Sam was hyping III and I feel like he put in extra effort with interviews, the web previews, and the online live performance on the day of the album release was awesome. He was coming off all the extra press from his book being a best seller as well. He claimed it was the best record he had ever been involved with. All they stars were aligned….and then it didn’t chart or sell nearly as well as the first album.

I think Satch has never really had big success as a condition for his projects and is very happy working for very limited audiences with his niche ventures.

A few months ago, I resigned the fact that CF was dead based on Sammy basically saying as much. I think a new CF album and all of the hard work and pressure of it is more than the old man wants to take on at 67.

Rail, not trying to rub salt in the wounds but you should have made it out to AC on the last tour. Make sure to catch the Circle if they come to our area again – it will make you feel better.

I think it comes back to Sam with why CF isn't moving forward. They already toured without Chad and worked him in recording so they could do that again if needed. Satch seems to be in. Sam though is the one who has been pretty vocal about not wanting to do it for financial reasons. Mike does his masters bidding so he is out if Sam is out.

I think the lack of success is a part of it but I also think Sam has a hard time with commitment. Even if things had worked with Van Halen, not sure if he would have been all in. Solo is his baby and he loves that more than anything. I think he loves trying new collaborations but just prefers being the man in charge.

Good albums but IMO in ten years won't be pulling them out like his stuff in VH. However its good stuff.

The music is horrible. Ed can snooze at 5150 with his dog on his lap all day long. He's got nothing to worry about from these jokers.

Sammy won't be hyping that Satriani guy ever again. He sucks wood.

It does remind me of the old school Links, but those guys were at least clever in their posts.

This my singer is better than your singer crap is running on thirty years, it gets a little tedious.

It's never going to stop and only VH is to blame.

How often do we hear "Bon Scot is better the Brian Johnson"? He is...but that's beside the point.

It still goes on to this day.

    "Dio is better than Ozzy"...

It's just more intense in the VH world. More passionate.
