I really like this show .
Love how the audience cheering and applause gets raised in the mix , when Eddie starts his guitar solo for "Right Now"

Speaking of guitar solos ? Listen to Eddie's live Eruption/316 showcase !!! Very 'dry' sounding for the most part , other than the "Cathedral" stuff of course

Loved these performances. Van Halen was firing on all cylinders--live, at least.

I saw them on the first leg and was a bit let down, they didn't seem to have any energy at the show I was at.

then I saw them a couple of weeks before this was shot and they were fantastic, they had energy the entire time, they sounded great and just kicked ass from start to finish.

I loved how the concert started. Ed and Sam walked out to center stage, sam had his arm around ed's shoulder like they were the best of buds and just launched into Big Fat Money, it was really, really cool to see them get along like that cause I thought there were problems between them (which as we all know there were) but this made me feel really good about the band for a little while.

So they opened with "Big fat money"??.
"7th seal" opened the first half, and "Right now" the US trek. Must've been a one-off

if you go through and check the setlists they actually moved stuff around alot. The first night they played in my area they opened with Aftershock, the night I saw them they opened with BFM. I've got a few boots from that tour and on the second leg they moved stuff around alot, they played essentially the same songs but they were in different orders all the time (up to a point, I think everything after Ed's solo was always pretty much the same)

I love the Sam years , love the Balance album , and think 'Big Fat Money' is a neat little tune . Even used part of the verse riff for inspiration in an original tune on my band's old cd ...
    Having said all that ?

BFM is an odd choice for the show opener at a Van Halen gig , imo . I'm sure the concert was amply rockin' , yet I'm just not feelin' that as an intro tune ...

it was just neat to see them walk out to center stage together and start the song that way. It was an energy song so it served it's purpose if I remember right.

this was before the internet so I didn't know how bad the lyrics were to some people, I like the song.

They opened the KC show with WCTBL and Wichita with Right Now.

According to Inside, there was a bunch of backstage footage of this show and talk of a full live release of the show with doc style extras.
I don't have a cool signature. Deal with it!
