I love the sense of humor and vibe of "A Little Ain't Enough..." Listening to "Drop in the Bucket" atm in honor.

I'm glad I found it for you guys. "Drop In The Bucket" my favorite track from the album by the way. I thought that would have been a single for sure. Great tune!

Get a load of Nili Brosh from Ibanez doing a perfect cover of Showtime. This is unreal. Certainly gives you an appreciation for Jason Becker's talent.

Don't think I gave ALAE the same love as EEAS back when released --- but I can't stop listening to it this week. Lots of really cool stuff on there I forgot about.

holy shit... that was blazing. When listening to the album you can obviously tell that's a crazy song, but sometimes until I see it done ... I'm not imagining THAT much craziness going on non stop.

I am in the very small minority that thinks ALAE is better overall than EEAS.

Tell the Truth, Drop in the Bucket, Sensible Shoes, It's Showtime, ALAE are really fun tunes.

And some of the songs are just guilty pleasures...40 Below and Hammerhead Shark. I know, they are stupid, but I like them. I feel DLR pulls them off, whereas someone without as much character in his vocal delivery would make them silly.

Again, I know my opinion is the minority opinion, but as I have gotten older I like this disc much more than when it first came out.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

This is a memory from a magazine article from back in 1991, so I might be totally wrong, but I think that he originally wanted that as the album cover, and WB balked at it, and therefore the reason for the very generic devil cover.

I think Daves solo career mostly blows. Would only need one CD to fit his stuff worth listening to. The song A Little Ain't Enough might be at the top of the list for me. Good memories wearing that song out on my cassette that first summer it was out. Smokin guitar and some very cool lyrics like "was vaccinated with a phonograph needle one summer break....then I kissed her on her daddy's boat, and shot across the lake..." Great stuff.

Just for shits, if I was going to make a DLR mix tape, in order:

    Easy Street
    California Girls
    Coconut Grove
    Yankee Rose
    Goin' Crazy!
    Tobacco Road
    Big Trouble
    Knucklebones
    Damn Good
    A Lil' Ain't Enough
    Tell the Truth
    Sensible Shoes
    It's Showtime!
    Drop in the Bucket
    Everybody's Got the Monkey
    Big Train
    Night Life
    Sunburn
    Little Texas
    Going Places
    Wa Wa Zat!!
    Weekend with the Babysitter
    Black Sand
You Got the Blues, Not Me
    Made Up My Mind
Stay While the Night is Young
    Soul Kitchen

27 songs? 8 of them covers. For me, that's his best solo stuff, the rest while I might enjoy some of it, if I never hear it again I wouldn't miss it. I mean I haven't written one song worth sharing on here, so I don't want to be too critical of his solo career. Most artists would kill for it.

How about Drop in the Bucket? That song kicks ass. With a great outro, reminded me of VH a little bit.

I thought I knew the Jason Becker story, but for some reason the fact that he was diagnosed at age 20 slipped my attention. 20 is incredibly young for ALS.

    20, wow, that's brutal.
