Default Dave's vocal range ranks near the top

Roth ranks #4 out of roughly 200 singers that they analyzed...

[ On a related note (no pun intended), there is this youtube video that shows examples of his range...

Any musicians near Boston / Cape Cod want to get together and play some VH? I play drums, guitar, keyboard, bass, and I sing. I want to start a VH tribute band. Contact me if interested.

I've seen that before, and even as a DLR fan, I find it kind of miss-leading.

If you take away the falsetto, he doesn't have anywhere near that range. Some people include falsetto in their range when comparing singers, but to me, there is a reason it is called FALSEtto, it isn't your real range.

It is also kind of a moot point, as there are singers with incredible ranges that I can't stand. Johnny Cash had about zero range, and he is one of my favorite singers. Mick Jagger has little range, so forth and so on. That guy from Steelheart had incredible range, and to hear him sing is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

I have a great range, but you never want to hear me sing...
