Default What happened to Alex Van Halen's Ludwig Rosewood 100th anniversary snare?

I know for a fact that in 2009 a small amount of these snares were made, like 1000 snares. I can't find anything on youtube or google about it anymore. Does anyone here have one of them?

    Maybe it was only 100.

There is one link on google to some museum. But youtube had at least 2 different videos to the snare being demoed.

Is that the one that has Rev Al on it?

No, that's a paiste cymbal I think your thinking of. The snare I'm talking bout was made by Ludwig for their 100th anniversary in the drum business.
That snare sounded good too from the demos I saw. I would love to have one, ever more than a evh guitar or amp.

When I google the images of Ludwig 100 anniversary snare this comes up on some search engines . It does not say 100 anniversary on this particular drum but it's got the same inlay images . Minus the Rev Al thing. Cool either way.

That is a way cool snare but not the one I'm thinking of. The 100th anniversary one was made of solid Rosewood and had gold hardware I think. It sounded fat.
