Default Ed and white Charvel style Japanese guitar?

Anybody know the story behind this one? Seems like a Japanese giveaway guitar of some sort...

Far out pic jimi! Yet another one I haven't seen, and I have Guitar Man and I don't recall seeing that in there...I wonder if that might have been the first guitar giveaway he ever did?

There was another thread about Japanese Guitar Magazines but I can't find it.

Ran across this one from '84 on EBay recently. Notice the black Kramer. Can't say I've ever seen that one before.

Maybe someone has a better scan with some more info.

Those are awesome! I haven't seen them before...that is a very early shot of Ed with the 5150. I have seen a picture of him tinkering with that little plastic guitar shaped thing (whatever that thing is), but I haven't seen that particular angle.

Yeah , wasn't that 'little guitar' shown in a GFTPM magazine ? Either the one with Ed on the cover around the OU812 album - holding the 5150 and wearing a Hawaiian looking shirt , or with Yngwie on the cover , where Ed paints up the Neptune guitar ?

    I think ... It's been a while

That might be...I know I saw the little plastic thing in a picture from the same photo session and maybe in a later one from around 1985 when Ed had the really short hair...
