Okay, so full disclosure: my dad loves the idea of time travel, and so it kind of rubbed off on me. I LOVE the Back to the Future trilogy, and I was a fan of Lost, which famously included time travel, and he and I saw a lot of movies when I was young that involved that idea.

So I thought it was kind of brilliant what JJ Abrams did for the Star Trek franchise. By splitting off onto another timeline, everything that happened still happened, but now he can tell new stories on the new timeline.

Seems like that's what they want to do here with Terminator--and I am all for it. Really LOVE the idea of an older Arnold-Terminator battling the CGI, younger, original Terminator. Tron: Legacy was THIS close to having a convincing younger Jeff Bridges. We'll see what 5-6 years has done when this comes out.

    This trailer got me excited.

I'm definitely going to see this one in the theatres. I also want to see how this can go for the future Terminator films.

    Meh

Apparently it's supposed to be a 3 movie set, although I could be wrong.

I think the Terminator concept has lost its appeal, seems like every movie is an attempt of performing CPR on a franchise which should have been allowed to die with Terminator 2.

It looks like they tried to take the first two movies and remake them into one movie.

It's hard for me to be upset that they screwed up the time travel timeline considering the obvious paradox in the original story.

However, this just looked like a nostalgia trip and it basically erased everything that happened. I must say, though, I was never a big Terminator fan boy to begin with, so maybe I'm just not the right audience.

"Back To The Terminator, Part II"! I thought it looked like it could be good, but then I've enjoyed all of the films. Time travel and the possibilities therein really do mess with my head, so I expect to be totally confused by the time this film ends!

And yes, I'm pretty sure there have been previous "Terminator" threads but good luck looking for them as the fun threads get buried by all the bullshit political/bad news threads.

Honestly, it looks better than I thought it would, but I'm still uninterested. It seems like I've already seen most of those scenes in previous films. I'll eventually catch this one on DVD, download or on Cable, not in the theater.
