Default Live DVD from MSG - 2008?

That is the speculation per Melodic Rock...a little disappointing if that's all that is included on the DVD..

    http://www.melodicrock.com/articles/...m-you-can-have

You'd think they'd want to get word out in time for Xmas shopping so we should hear soon. And if Dave starts his YouTube show and reappears in general, probably safe to say this is it for a while.

edit: sorry...just noticed this is already mentioned in another thread but less lost here anyway...

Default Live DVD from MSG - 2008?

Well if this is the special project, it makes me want to fart. What a waste. Two years of farting into a seat cushion and they come up with a DVD of a tour I saw three times? God this band tries your patience. Time to focus on AC/DC, a guitarist gets sick, drummer booked for murder, new album coming out. Two bad Van Halen doesn't work as hard

Some interesting reactions. I like Van Halen, I like seeing them perform, I like their songs, so I will buy the dvd. Sorta simple for me.

YouTube's audience shot concerts are comparatively horrible in terms of audio and video quality. So again I'll buy the dvd.

New tunes most favorite, any official live dvd with David second favorite. So I'm good.

Funny that this is exactly what people were dying for 5-6 years ago. So many posts from people wanting a show on DVD from that tour. I guess in 2014 not so much.

VH with Dave ('78-'84) - The best years....the "real" VH.
VH with Sam ('86-'96) - Incredible era....."We have renamed this town 'New Halen!'.
VH with Gary ('98) - Fucking disaster. WTF was that??
VH with Wolf/Dave ('12-'15) - Amazing comeback. Smokin' album and tours.

If these reports are in fact true … I would of loved to see this video in say 2010 a couple of years after it was recorded … 6 near on 7 years after the fact with a studio album in-between that now will not be represented in the DVD … is a BIG BIG LET DOWN …

Yes of course I will buy the DVD and play it a few times … am I satisfied after that after all rumours like

    1. Dave saying he was up at Ed's place working on new music
    2. That tremoliil dude saying Wolfie says the new music sounds good when he asked Wolfie
    3. Dave giving us a 18 month timeline as "They do all the work" bookings tour routing, album covers artwork etc etc etc …
    4. Ed photographed with some mixing dude that is supposed to be a big name … JUST After Dave lands back in LA after 6 months in Japan …
    5. Alex supposedly getting a new kit of drums from Ludwig … to be revealed soon …
    and lastly
    6. Dave shelving his solo record with John 5 dude …

All this for a 90min 6 to 7 years old live recording of a DVD …

Seems like a MASSIVE let down or a BIG ASS mis-direction by some …

either way Van Halen really need to hire a PR person that knows what the fuck they are doing and quite this 80's silence BS … its almost 2015 and even old rockers can get with the program … aka AC/DC, U2, Foo whatever they are called … they are all USING social media to their benefit and showing respect to their fans …

You guys can complain all you want. I'm definitely buying it if this is true.

“There is no indication that DLR has even been in real contact with the brothers let alone done any recording on "new" songs.”

This doesn't sound right at all. Dave was pretty clear that he speaks to Alex on an almost daily basis, even from Japan. He was also clear that he had been up to 5150 and the band is regularly working on new stuff and jamming. He said it on Joe Rogan and some other podcasts.

Listen, I'm happy to get a live DVD if it's high quality and represents the band live the way they should be represented. Youtube videos are cool but they suck in terms of quality. I did not think that LRHRN was a good representation of VH in concert. If they put some other cool stuff on the DVD, like the band jamming or rehearsing for the tour, some behind the scenes footage, maybe some footage from 5150 etc...then I think it could be an interesting and worthy project. It would be cool if they could do some footage from the recording and rehearsing of ADKOT in addition to the live show, and instead release a concert from the 2012 tour which I'm sure they must have recorded at some point. If it's just a live DVD from 2008 with nothing else on it, well I hope it's at least of a very high quality. But there is so much they could do with a project like this that would be really cool...I'm afraid they won't though. They could have recorded the Cafe Wha show and did a release of that. That actually would have been a pretty special thing to release. Throw in some interviews, rehearsal footage, a piece on Uncle Manny etc. and you have yourself a pretty killer "special project".

If all we get is a bare bones live DVD from 2008 and there are no new plans for any new material, then I will consider VH done and retired as a band, and that's ok. If I've seen them live for the last time, then I'm glad I went in 2012. Frustrating yes, but perhaps Eddie's health is a major factor in the lack of activity. I think I'm ok with the band being done, it's time to move on and just enjoy what they've given us in the past. I would anticipate Wolfgang becoming a full-time member of Tremonti and just jamming at 5150 whenever he feels like it. It would be nice if the band communicated something to the fans...these guys have some rabid fans that have supported them through some pretty ridiculous events and circumstances, and still they filled the arenas no matter how stupid things got with the band. I think they do owe us some sort of clarification, even is some small way, one way or the other. Tell me you're retired, not planning anything new, or that you are and give me a general time-frame, or that you are taking a hiatus to focus on your health for example, or that you are working on new music but taking it slowly. I don't know, I'm rambling so I'll shut up.

If you like cool, rock music, check out REVERY. We've put out two albums, and an EP. We were signed back in '06 and toured the US (our single Popstar Wedding was all over the radio back then). Our latest album, Adora De Phonic is available on Itunes, Amazon, etc.

Egads... this band. Dave & the brothers aren't even in "real contact"???

I wonder how much of it was re-recorded, ala RHRN. I don't have any interest in a 2008 show with Teen Wolf. None.
