Default Will Eddie & Sammy ever speak again?

There's no a chance of a reunion because of the Mike/Wolf situation, but do you think they will ever communicate again? I'd say no, but if Blackmore & Gillan can speak again then surely it's possible?

When it comes to anything Van Halen, I rule NOTHING out. Ever!

    Yes they will.

They'll meet in an airport, say hi, apologize, and give each other a hug.

That's the best we can hope for.

You can't assume that. Wolf is a great kid who gets it. I don't doubt he'd step aside to let that happen.

Anything is possible. In the big band era guys came and went all the time with bands. I saw a video once were Benny Goodman said he auditioned Buddy Rich and turned him down. Artie Shaws luck there.

I don't claim to "know" any more than anyone else here, but I just can't believe anyone thinks that Eddie has any interest in the band once Wolfgang is no longer in it. I feel positive Eddie has been done with any personal interest in being a professional musician for 10 or 15 years now, the last several years have only happened because of Wolf. And when he leaves that's it. That's the way I see it, anyway. It seems transparent.

Yeah I've believed that all along. Without Wolf none of the past 7 years ever happens. I'm just saying if Ed was interested in some kind of a reunion Wolf is not going to stand in the way of that. He'd probably want to see the original lineup as much as we would.

In this argument, I've always tended to be on Sammy's side. He seems cool, and we all know Eddie was dealing with a lot.

Having said that, I'm not sure if the fences can ever be mended, because of what Sammy put in his book. If he went through some cathartic process writing that book, then good for Sammy. If I were Ed (and I'm not), the whole Sammy's book thing looks like Sammy took advantage of the situation to sell books. In other words, I'm Eddie...I just went through hip surgery, cancer, divorce, and alcohol problems, and you are going to memorialize my shitty behavior during the shitiest time of my life in a book...that my kid and anybody else can read? Not cool. I know Ed is responsible for his own actions, but someone should ask Sammy the question...Sam, do you regret putting that stuff in your book about Eddie? My guess is he will say no, but actually feel differently.

    For these reasons, no.

Agree 100% here. Ed owns his actions, and he has to be accountable for them. However, it was a douchebag move on Sam's part to print the gory details for all to see. I know if it was me and a guy pulled that shit I'd never talk to him again. I've made some errors and done somethings in the past while under the influence of alcohol that I'm not proud of that some of my friends were around to witness. If they posted it on facebook or something I'd have to rethink our friendship. I coach youth sports and we have a saying that you praise in public and punish in private. I think that's applicable here.

We get a lot of talk around here about wanting a tell all book from Mike and imagine the stories he could tell. One of the reasons he has my respect is that to this point that tell all book has not been forthcoming. Sure, he could make a tidy little sum dishing the dirt that he knows and has seen, but he chooses not to. That's something that Sam could learn from - just because you can cash in on something doesn't mean you should.

Sure, they might speak again but that's it. I don't see Sam or Mike in VH again.

They will speak but it will have to be Sam who makes the first move. Whether he should or not is another story but I doubt very much that Eddie Van Halen really cares. He seems to be a person who can certainly cut off people and not even think about it.

Sammy isn't and that is part of the reason why he does discuss it. However he can be childish in his behavior like Eddie so maybe it won't happen until lets say Alex passes. Or they meet at some peers funeral. A forced situation.
