    Default 2014/15 NBA Season

After watching last nights Laker pre-season opener against Denver, I realized how much I have missed watching Kobe perform. He looked really good last night and seemed to be cutting with ease, running the floor and most of all, having fun. This years Lakers team looks miles above last years team...thank God.

    Go Lakers.

I don't think voicing concerns about a disappointing off season means I forfeited my Laker card.

I gotta say, I didn't think Kobe would be able to come back and play at high level....looks like I might have to eat that. He looks good. Can he do it for an entire season is the question.

Lakers fans' complaints, I realize, are the sports world equivalent of "White people problems."

That said, basketball fans in general were pretty much robbed of seeing Gasol, Kobe, and Nash play together, for the most part. Gasol on the wing with Howard in the middle playing for a coach who doesn't believe in posting up doesn't count, either.

I honestly believe that is something we should all lament. Seeing those guys, even in their twilight, play together for a decent head coach is something we all would have loved to see.

Two years ago there were huge expectations, Howard, and a hurt Nash. Such a disappointment. Last year, there was a hurt Nash and a hurt Kobe. Why even get angry?

This year, there is seemingly a healthy Nash, a healthy Kobe, and some likeable guys. I think watching this year will remind me of watching in the early to mid-nineties, the Threatt, Van Exel, Jones, Campbell, Ceballos, Peeler, Divac years.

My expectations are tempered. I believe this year will be fun to watch, like those years.

So Nash hurt his back carrying bags after asking out of the game Sunday. He's likely to be Lin's back up. Mr. Glass now.

One problem: Lin is hurt. Laker PG madness begins again.

The Lakers are a disaster. It's going to be another LONG year ...

The 1995 Lakers with Nick Van Exel, Eddie Jones, Cedric Ceballos, Elden Campbell, Vlade Divac, Anthony Peeler, George Lynch (not the guy from Dokken) and Sam Bowie were surprisingly good.

    great reaction

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Kobe Bryant grinned from ear to ear as the question was being lobbed his way, then the Los Angeles Lakers star offered a deep laugh.

No, Bryant said after a pause, he did not consider ESPN.com ranking him as the 40th-best NBA player to be any form of motivation.

"I've known for a long time [that] they're a bunch of idiots," Bryant said Thursday after the Lakers' 119-86 preseason loss to the Utah Jazz, hours after ESPN announced its ranking online

It's preseason. Who cares. And it's obvious they're not very good. Who thought otherwise? I'm just hoping Kobe stays healthy, dominates and gives the middle finger to all the people who said he couldn't be effective anymore. The rest of team is made up of garbage. I do like Nick Young. But besides him and the rookie Randle, I have little faith in the retreads that are on the court.
