Default Jimi Jamison, Lead Singer of Survivor, Dies at 63

Jimi Jamison, the former lead singer of the bands Survivor and Cobra, has died of a heart attack.

    He was 63.

Jamison became Survivor’s frontman following their smash hit “Eye of the Tiger,” helping to propel the band to additional successes like “Is This Love?” and “Burning Heart” from Rocky IV.

He also co-wrote and performed “I’m Always Here,” better known as the theme song for “Baywatch.”

Before his Survivor stint, Jamison sang with acts like ZZ Top and Joe Walsh, and was the lead vocalist for Cobra.

Jimi had a fantastic voice for both rock and pop. I loved it. Vital Signs was a big part of 84-85 for me.

Rest well, Jimi, and thanks for the music.

"...sang with acts like ZZ Top..."???

Was he also the guy that did the Bud Light "Real Men Of Courage" ads?

Regardless, rest in peace, Mr. Jamison

No that's the original Survivor singer Dave Bickler. The guy who really sung Eye of the Tiger.

R.I.P Jimi. I was watching Rocky IV recently and I love the song Burning Heart in it. It totally fits the movie.
