Default EVH on Black Sabbath Biography.

Watching the Sabbath biography on the Biography channel and noticed Ed has some comments in it. Didn't know he did this, pretty cool. Funny seeing subtitles when Ozzy speaks.

I'm guessing he was talking about the 78 tour? Where VH opened for Sabbath?

That and about Tommy' guitar playing as well as Bill Ward's drumming which he compared to watching Animal of the Muppets.

I'm watching it too. Ed tells a story about a wasted Ozzy on the 78 tour. Sabbath members complaining that Warner Brothers was putting money into Van Halen and ignoring Sabbath.

Nice to see Ed doing stuff like this and actually being able to remember stuff too.

I haven't seen this doc yet but does either Ed or Tony talk about how Tony and Geezer got pissed at the Van Halen when they opened for them, specifically Mike for ripping off their stage act, notably Geezer's solo by Mike?

According to Tony, they noticed over several week's worth of shows that Van Halen's live act started cribbing certain aspects of Sabbath's live show to the point that while Tony especially had a friendly rapport with Ed, he had to have an angry talk with him over the perceived issue near the end of the tour. While I never saw VH open for Sabbath, I did catch one '78 show and 2 '79 shows and Mike's early '79 tour solo spot and of course the opening bass bit for "You're No Good" did sound like it was heavily influenced by Butler's tone and playing. Conversely, if you listen to Black Sabbath's '85 "Born Again" album, there's several intros to songs that sound like Butler was influenced by Mike's early solo spots!

Would love to see this, but I don't have this channel on DTV.

Does anyone have a recording of it that could be shared via Dropbox? PM me please if you can help me out.

    Many thanks.

    Greg
