    Default F R question

Is there any difference in the post spacings
Between the original/special and pro models
    Of the Floyd rose?
I know the special has different material on parts to save money
I would love to use a low profile pro on a body that says routed for original

I could be wrong , but I believe the post spacing is the same . The Special is basically a clone of the original while using a different alloy in the steel . The specs and dimensions are supposed to be identical .

To my knowledge , the Pro is outfitted the same in regards to the posts .

Cool. Thx. I'm sure it's out there somewhere but I'm being lazy

The pro version of the ibanez edge looks so much better on guitars I'm assuming the pro FR is what I want in my non ibanez builds

    No problem , man .
I've used original Floyds in the past , and currently have two Specials on my main couple of guitars . No modifications were needed at all .

Like I said , I'm not familiar with the FR Pro , but think the post spacing is the same . I believe it's the saddle and fine tuner profiles that are different ? Someone else on here will be able to give a more accurate answer .

Good luck with the new builds !
    Cheers

The specials have the same spacing but after the examples I've tried they seem a bit inconsistant.
I had a black one that was tight as a drum- stayed in tune perfectly and everything felt solid. BUT -I also got a cosmo black one that was rickety- the screws (allen/ hex) that held the blocks on (the ones you use for setting intonation) refused to stay tight and the fine tuners wriggled around even when under pressure- one ended up stripping- I didn't force it or anything- it just went tight one day and when I tried to move it it stripped-
The arm on the cosmo rattled too- even if you tightened it so the bar shouldn't move it wobbled back and forward- drove me crazy!
I used to be 'sean112' but lost all my details!

After installing this fr pro and the dozen if edge pros I've done over the years I feel the ibanez licensed trem is a much better trem overall
