Default what VH 'club days' songs made it to albums?

what VH tracks that were first played live pre-debut album era, ended up making it onto later studio albums?

here's what I've got, including 'new' tracks that used sections of pre-first album tracks.

VH1 - the whole thing obviously - edit: maybe a couple weren't played live before?

VH2: Somebody Get Me A Doctor, DOA

WACF: Take Your Whiskey Home, Fools, Romeo Delight (uses a section of Get This Show On The Road)

FW: Mean Streets (uses a section of Voodoo Queen)

DD: Hang Em High (previously Last Night)

1984: House Of Pain (different from original but some sections the same)

I can't think of any from the Sammy era, but for some reason I'm thinking Take Me Back (Deja Vu) might use a section of an early track. I haven't included the ADKOT tracks, but have I missed anything else?

VH II: Intro for "You're No Good" was intro to "Down In Flames"

WACF: Loss of Control was played in '77 at least.

VH II: "Outta Love Again" was one of the first songs Ed ever wrote, they played a very early version of it as early as '73.

Balance: "Seventh Seal" riff was sometimes played in concert in 1980, and Ed says he wrote that song in the '70s.

thanks, didn't know that about the intro of You're No Good

didn't know Loss Of Control was played in 77 either, earliest live recording I've heard was from 1980 on a bootleg I think was called London Invasion.

hah, should've got that one, I've definitely heard early live versions.

wow I did not know that about Outta Love Again. don't suppose there's any audio of early live versions?

p.s. it seems like I'm not able to edit my first post any more to include the above corrections...would be useful if I could.

The edit window is pretty quick. 5 minutes, I think.

I know some people are split on this but I noticed it the very first listen.

'Honeybabysweetiedoll' is 'Act Like It Hurts' on steroids. It's the same riff just sped up.

The intro to "No More Waiting" (one of my favorite club days songs) was used on The Balance album , for "Take Me Back (Deja Vu) .

The piano music for "Right Now" stemmed from a guitar demo that Eddie did years earlier .
"There's too many people on this basketball that's floating around the sun, who are too afraid to allow themselves to FEEL" - Edward Van Halen
"Van Halen was never about the singer..." - a very wise fan.
"Embrace the past. Live in the moment but keep your eyes on the future, and keep on moving forward..." - Richie Sambora

I believe Bottoms Up is a club days song. If not then it was definitely played on the VHI tour.

Didn't really care too much for that one , compared to the later Van Halen stuff . Seemed lazy to me in a way . Dumb rock as opposed to Big rock . Basic as opposed to intricate .

I know it's all how we perceive things ...

A couple of tidbits from VHND -

"Act Like It Hurts" was merely the working title for "Tora! Tora!." It was NOT the title of that unreleased instrumental leftover from Women and Children First.

"Jamie's Cryin" was the only song recorded for Van Halen I that was written in the studio. All the others were written before they booked the studio.
