    Pretty sure northern ash.

Which replica the $25k ones? I would say yes but I'm sure someone knows better than me.

I've heard both northern ash and swamp ash, so I'm not completely sure. Does anyone know the difference between the two?

I've heard Northern Ash specifically from a few people. I just had one made with Northern Ash and thing is DAMN heavy.. but good. Feels heavier than most Les Pauls I've played.

It's funny because I was just looking this up the other day.

There are threads on this site that swear it was swamp ash, and their source was a guy that actually worked on the original Franky, but no one knows for sure.

If this is for a build, I don't think you'll be able to tell the difference if all the other equipment is the same. Even pieces of swamp ash (which is generally regarded as being warmer and lighter than northern ash) can be practically the same as pieces of northern ash if cut from higher up on the tree and from the inner portion.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.
