Default Which white humbucker to get for my Bumblebee?

I have a Wolfetone Marshallhead with white Bobbin Toppers on it. I LOVE it, but the way I play, my pick is tearing the Bobbin Toppers up, so I need a real white bobbin humbucker. Wolfe doesn't make one and told me he can't. So what can I use to replace this? I hate the no-name humbucker in my Frankenstein, so the Wolfetone is going in it.

For $160 it should be. Way too rich for my blood.

I was recently impressed by the GFS VEH bridge pickup. Sounded great in the partscaster I put it in, especially for $35.

Yeah, I've heard great things about the Tone Zone. It's not slanted on my Bumblebee, so parallel with the Floyd Rose Special. Do I need F-spacing or regular poles?

So, someone tell me about the Tone Zone vs. Air Norton. And what can get me as close to what's in my EBMM EVH and Axis?

I've actually got a Tone Zone if you decide to go that way. Barely ever used it. Just too high output for me. To me the EVH Wolfgangs have a smoother tone.

Brett, I'll PM you when I've done a little more research. Is yours white?

No it's black you'd need the white bobbin toppers.

Thanks, but I'm getting away from Bobbin Toppers and love the black pickup I have them on. My playing tears up the Bobbin Toppers. Need a white bobbin humbucker that sounds as good as my Wolfetone Marshallhead.

My playing tends to tear up the toppers too, to an extent, just the top edges. But economically, you can get a great pickup in black (SD for example), and Bobbin Toppers are so damn cheap you could buy 20 at a time and replace them every month and still come out way ahead.

Well, the latest Musician's Friend 10% off coupon moved me to get a DiMarzio AT-1 in white for the Bumblebee. Then I can peel off the Bobbin Toppers and slap the Wolfetone, which I LOVE, in my Frankenstein.

Now, does anyone have a Boss TU-3 for sale?

Ok, got the DiMarzio AT-1 today and made the switch. I only ran it through my practice amp for a few min., as I wanted to throw the Wolfetone into the Frankenstein too.

The AT-1 has a slight buzz to it that goes away when I touch the metal housing at the end of my cable. I think I did a pretty clean wiring job and the pickup sounds awesome when I'm playing. But when I'm not playing and just mute the strings, it's a pretty noticeable buzz. What did I do wrong?

I put the Wolfetone in the Frankenstein and it sounds amazing and with no buzz at all.
