    Default Multi-effect pedal recommendations

I'm playing in a "surrogate band" in my neighbor's garage. Totally casual stuff. I'd like to get a multi-effect pedal to add some phasor and wah (among other things) to disguise my sloppy soloing. I don't want to spend a lot, but I want something I can stomp and keep playing if I set it correctly, and I'm looking for recommendations.

I notice Vox (my amp is a Vox) sells a Stompbox IIG that seems to fit the bill, but I've never tried it. It sells for about 90 bucks.

What do you guys use? I need something cheap (less than 100) but something I don't have to crouch and fiddle with mid-song.

I had a Zoom G2.1U for a long time, it's easy to use and has an expression pedal that you can assign to different things. I can't remember how much I paid for it but it's a cool little unit.

I'd recommend getting a metronome and practicing at least one hour every day, preferably more. Avoid all effects. It will make you a much better player and everyone will be much happier-yourself and most of all the people who are listening to you play.

I played live and recorded an indie cd with an original 5150 head , and a cheap Zoom 1010 in the effects loop . Those things are inexpensive , fairly small , and full of usable F/X . Mine got utilized for some chorusing and a few delay settings ...

I've also used (without an amp) a variety of Boss multi effects pedals . The GT-3 , for example , is just fantastic . They are dirt cheap on ebay and other such sites .

I'm about to buy the new ME-80 . $309.00 Canadian . Looks and sounds wicked

I have a Boss GT-3 in perfect shape with original manual and power supply I'll sell cheap. I wasn't real good at programming it, but when a knowledgeable buddy did it for me, there wasn't a sound that thing wouldn't reproduce perfectly. I couldn't figure out why they kept making newer models, as I couldn't think of anything the GT-3 couldn't do. But I went back to stomp boxes a while ago.

I recorded a demo cd with a Boss GT-3 , direct into a Yamaha hard drive/home studio . Great results and a lot of fun ! That's why I'm stoked to try the new ME-80 .

Pickslide, you really, really should check out the Fender Mustang Floor Pedalboard. For $200, it's the best and cheapest thing, and I don't mean cheap in a bad way.

My son bought this and I wanted to steal it from him when I returned home from visiting him. It has great sounds and is very flexible during performance. You really need to check it out.

It's selling out quickly, so see what you can do to find it.

I just looked that up on ebay , Metal Mark . One of the ads had a video demo link . Yup - $200.00 is a great price . The sounds I heard were pretty cool , yet nothing I haven't been exposed to in other multi-effects pedals .

The Fender Mustang Floor has all those dreaded pages and menus to scroll through , and I (personally) hate that !

I like the Boss ME 70 and 80 for the dedicated knobs for each effect . Handy indeed and very cool for switching sounds on the fly . Less frustrating and time consuming . All for a hundred bucks more ...

I like the ME 70, too, but the Fender Mustang Floor offers more flexibility for a live setting than most pedal boards do and it's really easy to use. No shit.

Hmm ... Very cool . I might have to look at that pedal board a bit more closely .

Okay, so I had this neighbor who was selling his Digitech RP255 for 50 bucks and couldn't pass it up. Pretty sweet unit, great for practice and looping and getting more tones than my amp offers. May not be my final solution, but it was a bargain so I went for it.

But now I have another issue. When I run the unit into my Vox VT 30 amp, the volume is very low. That's fine when practicing, but when I jam with my friends I need more volume. The VT30 has automatic amp models, and I'm wondering if there is some sort of conflict. Does anyone know how to resolve this?
