    Default Hard Rock Vegas Residency?

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. I did a search and didn't come up with anything.

On June 13th, Las Vegas Review-Journal gossip columnist Norm Clarke (@Norm_Clarke) tweeted the following: "Hearing the Hard Rock's new management has been busy recruiting Kiss, Van Halen, Sammy Hagar + Journey with Steve Perry #vegas #fb #lvrj"

Has anyone heard anything about a possible VH residency at Hard Rock Las Vegas?

I think it could be possible, maybe 2 shows a week maximum...make a ton of money...an excuse for Ed not to travel around the world. Dave's voice would have time to recover.
    Right here I say....

    Please God no.

Maybe a smart move financially but I hope they dont do this. They might as well just pack it in.

They can recruit. Any takers on VH responding?

A lot of these acts that do residencies strike me as acts a little past their prime. When was the last time a lot of them released new music? I don't see VH going down that road.

All of those sound like "wouldn't it be great if we could get ______?" type selections. I don't anticipate any of them actually doing it.

Considering Al and Ed lambasted Dave for doing his Vegas show, I doubt they would ever have an interest going down that road.

Def Leppard had a lot of success doing Hysteria last year. It might sound corny, but they are back on tour and working on a new album. I see no reason why Van Halen wouldn't consider it. Plus, the sound would be perfect and we would likely finally get a DVD!

    I found this snippet:

While the ad doesn’t specifically state there will be a KISS residency, it sure does imply it. VegasChatter member @paperposter tells us that word is KISS will perform 10 shows in November at The Joint.

It’s probably just a coincidence KISS will begin touring with two-time Hard Rock residency band Def Leppard later this month. It could also be coincidence that Las Vegas won’t have a stop on the tour which ends August 31.

If you’re looking further into the future, you might want to keep an eye on Van Halen. Van Halen was a runner up to KISS on which band hard rock fans on MetalSludge.tv wanted to see in Vegas.

I hope they don't but Def Leppard, Motley Crue (twice) & Guns N Roses (twice) have done pretty good.
What I heard is that KISS is going to do a residency by the end of the year.

If VH ever did the Vegas Residency...so be it.
At least they'd be out there putting on a hell of a show.

Personally, I'd like to see another album and tour.

Here's the good thing about a residency...it could be more productive for them. Since they're not moving around they can play a few shows a week and then spend the off days in a studio. They're all stuck in the same place anyways, might as well record while they're at it.

Kiss I can see. Anything huge and overblown that Gene can market incessantly, and Vegas fits the bill. Sammy I can see as well. He seems to love Vegas and is always popping up at the Cabo Wabo Cantina to plug his rum. Journey WITH Steve Perry? I dunno...Neal said publicly a while back they had reconnected and he missed working with him. But Perry is such a primadonna nutjob that it may be ill-fated. Besides, the Escape/Frontiers pipes are long gone.

As for VH, I guess I could see it too. Dave has always been a Vegas act, no matter where the stage may be. Talk about the perfect pairing. Ed and Al and Wolfie would only be a short plane ride from home. They could literally commute for every show if they wanted. Makes sense in a way...anything quick and easy seems to be the VH M.O. these days (like scraping together 35 year old demos and making a new album).

One thing's for sure--even if they don't get VH there, they need to get some displays up. I was at the HRH and Casino Vegas a couple of months ago and searched high and low for anything red, black, and white. They didn't have squat--but they DID have numerous displays from crappy bands that nobody cares about. And how many Dave Navarro makeup kits does one guy need to see in his lifetime anyway?

    I hope not.
If they wanna do a couple weeks their during a tour, fine, but to just play Vegas non stop....I don't see any good coming out of that.Dave and Ed stuck together, the Vegas setting maybe making Dave a little more opinionated, less easier to work with ...given the history I can only see them growing apart during something like this.

Southwest has lots of flights to Vegas.

I stayed there in 2012 for a week and they had one of Al's drum kits on display at the hotel. I took some photos. Did they get rid of it?
