    Default Fender Mustang amp settings

Are there any other users here who have one of the mustang series of amps? I'm going to moving to a Peavey 5150/6505 maybe a year from now. I pull off some great VH tones with this though.
Does anyone else use it? I'll share some of my presets if there is interest.

I dont own one, but I do go and play at a place where I use one and can never get a good sound of it (possibly due to the fact that I also have to use stock squires) but ill try some settings next time if you have found some good ones

I actually bought one for a little practice amp at home and returned it a day later. Never got very good sounds out of it.

This is with a Peavey Wolfie, so adjust as needed!
Here's what I use to get the tone from L;RHRN:

British 80's Amp (Supposed to be like a JCM800 I think)
    Gain 10
    Volume 7
    Treble 7
    Middle 4
    Bass 8
    Presence 5

    Compressor:
    Level and thresh is half
    ratio/attack/release are all around 10 o'clock

    Sine Chorus:
    Level 10
    Rate .62HZ
    Depth 9.7%/1 on amp
    Avg Delay 9.7%
    Phase is 50/center

Two delays, one for normal one for Cathedral
    Normal
    Level 4.5
    Dly Time 350ms
    feedback 16.4%
    flutter 58%
    Separation 32%
    Brightness 50%

    Cathedral
    Level 10
    Dly Time 660ms
    Feedback 12%
    Flutter 40%
    Sep 100%
    Bright 50%

    Reverb
    Level 24%
    Decay 36%
    Dwell 27%
    Diffusion 50%
    Tone 30%

I've only been playing a year and a half, and been into Van Halen for around the same time. If there is ANYTHING that anyone thinks should be changed here please say so.
    Thanks.
    -Dave

Thanks for those settings. My home practice amp situation has been a revolving door for several years now. Mustangs, Cubes, Voxs, Vypers, you name it--if it's a modeler and it doesn't crack any windows (or my marriage) then I've had it at least once.

My favorite so far? The Yamaha THR 10X. This little desktop dandy spits out some of the best crunch (including not one, but TWO Brown Sound presets) I've heard anywhere. Just an overall fantastic bedroom and practice amp.

There's a video from Satchel of Steel Panther on Youtube as he runs it through the paces (and cracks you up along the way). Check it out:

Looks a lot more portable than my mustang III. I wonder how the volume compares.

It is way more portable. Battery powered as well so you can take it anywhere. Mine's sitting on a desk out of the way, instead of taking a chunk of the floor.

Can't speak for the volume compared to the Mustang, but I've probably only had this thing up halfway and it seemed plenty loud to me.

Well worth trying out next time you're in your favorite guitar shop. They have several in the line to match your playing style, but the 10X is the one you want for serious gain.
