Have any of you guys had any experience with one of these? I'm looking at one at the moment- it's a made in India model.

I had a JS24 a few years back, quite similar. Not bad for a cheaper guitar. Mine was also made in India and was constructed of a different type of wood (forget the name...Cedro maybe?) but all I remember is how SOFT it was. You could barely tap it against something and it would ding. Frustrating. Played it for a few months until I got enough money for a Charvel San Dimas, and this one when to Craigslist.

If you want a great Jackson for the money that'll give you everything you need and then some, look for a used DK2M. Japanese made, great tone, Seymour Duncan stock pickups, 24 frets, solid alder body, maple fretboard and neck, awesome. They can be had for 3 or 400 dollars, maybe cheaper. Not the latest versions from the past few years, but the previous incarnation from the mid 2000s. I've got a snow white version with a Dimarzio Super Distortion and PAF pro combo, and it RIPS. Love it.

Thanks for the reply mate- I ended up grabbing it. It's not too bad- very suprising for a student guitar. I've owned some 'high quality' guitars that weren't as well done as this.
With some new hardware it would be a keeper.
