    Default Judgment Day

This is one of my favorite Sammy sung Van Halen songs. I think the whole song just kicks all kinds of major ass. I can't go the speed limit when it comes up on the I-POD. Even live, the band just crushes this one. It's got everything. It's heavy, it's melodic, good lyrics, guitar will melt your face, drums that you feel in your chest..great backing vocals. When I bought FUCK, I skipped Poundcake, because I had heard it on the radio so much (great tune, but I had heard it a zillion times). I went right to Judgment Day and when it was over, I turned to my buddy and said, "holy crap, me likey!"

Anyway, put it in a time capsule as a song from the Sam era to show that this band could rock your face off with two different singers.

Man, I wish Sammy would play this solo, but I'm guessing Vic's "delayed, play behind the lyric style" would not cut it on this one. Catch up Vic!

    Happy Weekend.

One of the truly kick ass hard rockers of all VH eras. All four members are on fire. Great in the studio; great live.

I think Vic and the boys did actually attempt this one back on Sammys 06 tour or around then. Anyone have any confirmation?

Yup. They played it along with Good Enough and Summer Nights on The Other Half Tour.

I've always loved the song too . It's a hard driving riff that really kicks butt in all the right places . Add to that some cool vocal harmonies and melodic interludes ? Not too bad at all !

Very neat to finally get a full blown example of Eddie's "piano style" of two handed bliss , etched on tape . Great song - studio and live .

Is there footage of those tunes being played ? I've never seen any (not that I've ever looked for it) , and would really like too !!!

I was never too impressed with Sam's solo bands , yet I'd dig checking out the songs mentioned above .

I'm sure there's some vids on YT. Never really checked. I know they filmed a show that aired in HDNet and they played Good Enough.

    Thanks , man !
I'll have to seek them on YT for sh*ts and giggles . I've always said that I loved Sam in VH , but have never paid too much attention to his other stuff . I'll try looking for those later on ...

    Cheers

YEAH, Sam played it on the other half part of his 06 tour along with Humans Being, Good Enough and Summer Nights. Vic Johnson used to really struggle with the Ed tunes but he got alot better as the years went on and he actually did a pretty good job on those. He does a decent job on the earlier VH material when he plays with the Mad Anthony Express which I was actually shocked to hear.

JD is a fantastic song. There are no weak points at all, just great from start to finish. Everyone is playing great and it just all comes together.

It is a really good , driving , melodic song . VH didn't lose anything when Sam joined the band . In fact , they gained a few things IMO . Not a comparison between the eras (which is childish and stupid at best) , just an honest and hopefully mature statement .

The band made wicked music with everyone who's ever been in the group . A lot of us here play music . We should be so lucky , to have the career that VH has had .

THAT is just fuckin EPIC..the singing by all three members is BADASS...and the band is SO tight.

Probably one of their best songs. It should have been the first single off of F.U.C.K and the lead song for Terminator II:Judgement DAy.... (Is there truth that this song was considered, but GnR were picked for the song instead with You Could Be Mine?)

Lets just throw a pound of weed in the fire place, f@#% it!

Judgement Day is one of the greatest hard rock songs ever recorded! I remember when I was a teenager, people would ask me why I love Van Halen so much. I would put on Judgement Day and say listen to that guitar.
Right Now you're reading my post!

I can't stand rap....people who can't sing do rap....you can sing rebellion as well as talk it....Hitler would have been in a rap band...
