    Default Favorite studio-recorded MOMENT?

The "It's About Time" thread made me think about my least favorite moments in Van Halen's studio-recorded history. But that's a conversation for later.

How about your favorite all-time SINGLE MOMENT in studio-recorded history?

Mine comes at 1:46 of "Human's Being."

I do not play guitar, so I can't explain the layering effect, but I CAN sort of explain the effect on my nervous system.

I once had a girlfriend who did a certain thing with her eyes in bed, and when I hear 1:46 of "Humans Being," I can feel the same thing happening to my eyes.

Mine, at the moment, is at the 0.07 mark of Without You. I never get tired of it!

The breakdown in "In a Simple Rhyme".

I never get tired of hearing it.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

A man's rights rests in three boxes: the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

the solo in PUSH COMES TO SHOVE, to me it's a song inside a song, gives me goosebumps every time.
the emotion Eddie transmits on that solo, to me it's simply AMAZING!
"I could call it anything, but the only word I can think of is Brown. It's just a warm sound. Warm, big, majestic" - Eddie Van Halen on his Tone

"Van Halen is definitely a ladies band, and Ive got the Polaroids to prove it". - David Lee Roth

WOLFGANG did the IMPOSSIBLE, he brought back VAN HALEN, DEAL WITH IT.

I'd have to think about it but, probably the "Dreams" chorus, breakdown, and solo. "TOTW" solo is up there, too. The first verse of "Blood and Fire" starting at "king-sized repercussions..." I loved so much I laughed when I first heard it (the way Dave sings over Eddie's playing and Alex's cymbals real fast). When the drums kick in with the riff on "Unchained," "Drop Dead Legs" and "Romeo Delight" gotta be up there.

    Default Favorite studio-recorded MOMENT?

I love the little Sustainer lick in Honeybabysweetiedoll, the just guitar part. I also like the "Humans...humans being" in the Humans Being outro, and the Me Wise Magic intro. The outro solo in Aftershock is one of my favorite Eddie solos ever. All of Cathedral and Sunday Afternoon in the Park gives me goosebumps. The riff in Dirty Movies with about 19 seconds left is really cool. But nothing beats the descending riff in Romeo Delight right before "I'm taking whiskey to the party tonight."

I will reply with favorite studio recorded Moment (less than 10 seconds?) for each album:

VH1: End of last solo in ATBL right before the 1st "HEY HEY HEY"
VH2: Drums right before the main riff of Outta Love Again
WACF: "Wow Hey Hey Hey" (In A Simple Rhyme, right after slow down and right before Mikey's bass)
    FW: Beginning of Unchained.
DD: End of Hang Em High guitar solo
1984: Panama - Right before 1st chorus, when drums and bass stop, and all we hear is that perfect guitar.
5150: Taps near the end of Dreams
OU812: Sucker in a 3 piece, right before the solo Sammy screaming something and then the solo starts
4UCK: "we're not defeated, no no no, dream another dream"
Balance: Aftershock right when the solo starts. Fantastic.
VH3: Josephina, right at the end of the solo when gary starts singing again
ADKOT: Honeybabysweetiedoll: "Woof!" and then Eddie plays the riff once, and then goes up an octave.
    Right here I say....

    1. one has to be Mean Street intro and maybe more specifically the tail end of feedback before main riff

    2. Anything in Dirty Movies

    3. Girl Gone Bad ending w the drums
