Marie Fredriksson, the much-beloved Swedish singer/songwriter, died on Monday. She was 61.

Fredriksson was best known as the lead vocalist, keyboardist and co-founder of pop-rock duo Roxette, which in the 1980s became a world-renowned musical act thanks to its synth-heavy smash-hits, including Listen to Your Heart, The Look and Joyride.

Throughout her life and career, Fredriksson also released music with a number of punk and rock bands before kicking off her own highly successful solo career. Her eighth and final solo album, Nu!, dropped in 2013.

With Roxette, Fredriksson put out 10 studio albums dating from 1986 to 2016 alongside former bandmate Per Gessle. They were Sweden’s best-known band since ABBA.

She had a great voice, was gorgeous, had catchy songs and a great songwriting partner... I liked a lot of their stuff, including the tunes you mentioned ^^^ and 'Sleeping in My Car' etc.

    Damn, that sucks.

    RIP.

I'll take the heat for it, I really liked Roxette back in the day.

Yeah, I hate to admit I didn't turn the station when a couple of their songs came on. Sad

The Look was such a huge song. It was always being played in bars and on the dance floor, where it seemed like you never heard the same version twice.

I miss those days. Right now thinking about it, I hear shit like The Church and Prince in my head.

I loved me some Roxette back in the day. Those Swedish musicians sure know how to craft a song that sticks. Too young. Damned cancer.

Nothing wrong w/ embracing musical diversity...as long as it's good, I'll listen to it...be it rock, metal, rap, country, punk or classical. Roxette was the sound of my college days - some great memories there.

I'm sorry she died, but Roxette sucked almost as much as Ace of Base.

Just saw that. RIP Mr. Aiello.

As for the infection from an injection, our overuse of antibiotics on ourselves and in our food supply could possibly have some real negative consequences.
