'Little Rascals' actress Jackie Lynn Taylor dead at 88

Jackie Lynn Taylor, who starred as one of the "Little Rascals" in five of Hal Roach’s “Our Gang” comedy shorts in 1934, died Monday of Alzheimer’s disease in Citrus Heights, Calif., near Sacramento, the Sacramento Bee reported. She was 88.

Taylor, who played Jane, was eventually replaced by Darla Hood.

The child actress also appeared in two Laurel & Hardy films, “The Devil’s Brother” (1933) and “Babes in Toyland” (1934), also for Roach.

Later she was a host and reporter at KTTV Los Angeles and other stations around California.

Taylor penned a book about the Little Rascals, “The Turned-on Hollywood 7″ (1970), and with husband Jack Fries she hosted TV’s “The Little Rascals Family Theatre,” which aired the old “Our Gang” shorts in the 1970s.

She is survived by Fries, a former TV journalist, anchor and producer.

Her first husband was actor Ben Bard.

I imagine there are total generations going forward that will never have any idea about Our Gang and Little Rascals related items.

That was fun, thanks. I knew he had died, I just figured they didn't need to "replace" him, much like dying didn't mean Disney had to replace him. I'm sure Kellog has plenty of audio of him saying, "They're great!" and "And you." The new commercials must have him saying more or they just wanted to modernize him.

Default Author, poet and civil rights activist Maya Angelou dies at age 86

Legendary American poet and author Maya Angelou, whose autobiographical works often centered on racism and civil rights, has died at age 86.

The renowned writer first became a literary sensation with her first book, “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings,” a coming-of-age autobiography that recounted her childhood and early adult years, including her experience of becoming a teenage mother.

Her son, Guy B. Johnson, released a statement Wednesday:

"Dr. Maya Angelou passed quietly in her home before 8 a.m. EST. Her family is extremely grateful that her ascension was not belabored by a loss of acuity or comprehension. She lived a life as a teacher, activist, artist and human being. She was a warrior for equality, tolerance and peace. The family is extremely appreciative of the time we had with her and we know that she is looking down upon us with love."

When Angelou appeared on TODAY, she shared many details of her life, from the favorite foods of her childhood to her relationship with her grandmother.

She really was an example of someone who came from nothing and by her own hard work and skill made something of herself....then used her influence to raise up others.

In the age of the Kardashians and the Hiltons and the Jersey shore and Bravo housewives who become famous for nothing, contribute nothing and uplift nothing, Angelou's accomplishments are impressive

Billy Clyde Tuggle has passed........or at least the actor who played him

Mathew Cowles, the husband of Christine Baransky and the originator of the legendary soap opera character Billy Clyde Tuggle passed away at the age of 69

    http://www.deadline.com/2014/05/all-...tine-baranski/

Billy Clyde was a character so legendary, so iconic and so original that he was able to stick around (on and off, soap opera fashion) for 37 years

He was a pimp...he drugged and locked his wife Estelle in coffin. he was a stalker, he was a kidnapper, a attempted bomber. a blackmailer...he attempted to kill another popular character with a shovel

although he may have been best known as the quirky Billy Clyde he was one of those talented character actors who you may not know by name, but certainly recognize

He was in Slap Shot, Oz, Life on Mars, Shutter Island, Lonesome Dove and so many shows like Miami VIce, Homicide Life on the Street, Law and Order..a real journeyman actor.

but forever known to me as Billy Clyde Tuggle

Sad. Especially since apparently she was otherwise healthy. Rest in peace, Ms. Davis

Rik Mayall, star of 'Drop Dead Fred' and 'The Young Ones,' dead at 56

The British comic actor was injured in a 1998 quad bike accident that left him in a coma for several days, but he otherwise worked steadily in TV and movies for more than 30 years.

The world just got a little drabber.

British comedy actor Rik Mayall, best known on this side of the pond for his romp as the titular imaginary friend in the 1991 comedy “Drop Dead Fred,” died Monday morning, his management team announced.
    He was 56.

The son of a pair of drama teachers, Mayall caugh the notice of TV producers as part of a comedy stage act called Twentieth Century Coyote.

Mayall went on to earn cult status when the BBC comedy “The Young Ones” ran for two seasons on MTV in the early ‘80s.

Mayall starred alongside frequent collaborator Adrian Edmondson as a bumbling anarchist in the comedy about four anti-establishment students in Thatcher’s England who were revolting in every sense of the word.

He’s also known for a memorbable part in the Rowan Atkinson comedy series “The Black Adder,” which aired in 1983.

Mayall worked steadily on British television right up until last year, though he was incapacitated for a time after a major quad bike accident in 1998 left in him in a coma for several days.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, and three children, according to London’s Independent.

If you have nothing nice to say about Eddie Van Halen, you're at the right website. - Me (A few years ago)

"People take Van Halen much more seriously than we do" - David Lee Roth (1980's)

"I don't sit on the end of your bed while you're trying to make a living" - David Lee Roth (1988)

Drop Dead Fred is the only movie I've ever walked out on. It was so long ago, I don't remember the details... It just seemed to plod along, and wasn't at all funny.
