Yep, they were on. Sammy was on the first half, and then Dave. Dave was wearing the same outfit he wore at the VMA's and Carson.

I know I'm gonna get flamed like hell by Roth fans claiming I 'just don't get Roth' but after seeing DLR on Stern, I believe he has about as much chance of reuniting with VH as I have of getting hired as singer #4. I'm not saying Sam's a lock by any means but this guy is ridiculous. His self-effacing 'look at me' crap at his age is a joke.

I would pay good money to hear him actually answer a question in common English rather than his token catch phrases which are getting more and more tired by the day. Even the crew on Stern seemed to be poking fun at the guy. I could care less what the guy looks like or what he wears but that schtick has got to go.

I grew up with DLR and VH so it's not like I don't remember the Dave of the 80's. But, he's either played his schtick to the ground or it was just as stupid then as it is now and I was too young/stupid to realize it.

There's NO way Ed will want to put up with that crap in the studio or on tour. It was all I could do to watch his whole segment on Stern.

There's been a lot of talk lately about what VH would have to do to be a factor in today's music scene. IMO, they need to take their place as the elder statesmen in the industry and work within their limitations. Now, musically, I don't think there are any. But, if they go out there with this clown playing this same tired routine, I doubt that anyone (save the 'Dave or the grave' folks) will buy into it.

LOL!
That is some funny shit!

But Sean is absolutely right. It does get redundant. Every interview is the same as the one before. I'm really starting to think Roth is nut's.

Yeah, but did you catch Stern "dissing" Mikey!
He said something along the lines of..
"..so if Eddie, Alex, and...who's the chubby guy that played bass..."
Geez, I think they just had him on to poke fun at him. I tuned in at 11:17pm...didn't see Sammy. They just talked to Dave, no music played.

Yeah, I caught that comment about Mikey. That was low. DId you also notice how Dave couldn't stay still. He looked like a rat waiting for his crack pellet.

Come on, thats just Dave being Dave. By now, you should know that nothing in the world is going to change his schtick. You know what? I dont think he gives a rat's ass what you think or anybody else thinks about how he acts or how he projects himself. Come to think of it, can you even imagine a subdued Dave in an interview? Or even a toned down Dave? I can't. I do agree that you probably will never see a Dave / VH reunion. And I also agree that sometimes I think Dave is over the top. But he has always BEEN about being over the top. Thats just him, embarrassing or not. Another idea, though maybe far fetched. Why not just produce an instrumental VH album...no vocals..or maybe some various songs with Mike singing. It may not be commercial, but I know a ton of VH fans that would love to hear it.

i think that is what inspires me most about dave... he doesn't try to conform to what the politically correct yuppies in our society and media think he should do or be...

i have respect for the few people in this world that still have the courage and guts to be themselves, no matter what anyone thinks...

Howard is a tool now, his idea of good music is Rob Zombie, so whatever. He hates VH for what they did there promoting 3.

I would have rather heard Dave's sing than his interview, of course they didn't show the footage of them playing those acoustic VH tunes. That would have been more interesting IMO.

It was a mess. Eddie wouldn't play. In fact, he wouldn't talk. He stumbled around the studio a bit. Gary said maybe three things. I don't know if Mike was there and Alex took the role as spokesperson and pretty much said nothing. It was a fiasco. You could tell they did NOT wanna be there.

What Han Valen said. Eddie did his best impersonation of Dustin Hoffman in "Rainman."

Sounds like Van Halen of 2002 doesn't it?

Ed's not playing or talking.
Gary sings about 3 versus with Sammy at Boston and NY shows.
Don't knwo where Mike loyalties are.
Alex is still not saying anything, but I think that he is the "brains" of VH now. (until Sam returns ).
You can tell that they aren't doing shit now as well.

OH, Brother!!!!
