Default Reviews of WACF in Creem, Circus and Hit Parader?

I'm not sure if any or all of these magazines ran reviews of WACF back in 1980. The VH Encyclopedia says a review of WACF appeared in the July 1980 issue of Creem.

(I assume this means a stand-alone review separate from the Dave DiMartino article about VH from the July 80 Creem).

Does anyone have the appropriate issues of Creem, Circus or Hit Parader who could please check for me?

    Thanks -

    G

I have that Creem here. it does have separate review.
I put up 2 scans a while back linked below. could probably use better version that's easier to read though

Thanks for this! It's actually a pretty positive review. Somewhat surprising since Creem panned VHI.

"Dubious" remake of You Really Got Me? Uhh, it sure as hell is 10 times better than the original, and frankly, gets about 10 times the airplay too. Most people aren't even aware that it is a cover in the first place.
The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

Yeah, what a silly comment. The older I get, the more I hate reviews of any kind. I used to think I wanted to write them.

The writers almost always come off as petulant whiners who just wish they could make music (or movies or whatever) as good as the production they are reviewing. And the constant and overt attempt to be clever is really, really tiresome.

So the reviewer thinks In A Simple Rhyme "sucks."

That tells you all you need to know about his musical intelligence.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

I wouldn't get to worked up over the goofy review, from 34yrs ago nonethless. Creems reviews were always a joke literally , and the mag knew that when they went to press. Creem was all about goofing on the bands they featured , especially VH. The review gave DD in '82 was a riot

Great scans Heisenberg! That's a beautiful live shot of 1980 tour.

Yeah Dave always bagged on reviewers for a reason I suppose.

"As inconceivably hot as Mr. French ramming a redhot crowar up Buffy's nose, the bam-bam vibes carry over into 'Loss of Control,' which takes off from the sound-effects opening of the second side like Rodan with a hotfoot"

Wow...I remember owning that issue. Some of the things written there made an impression on me at the time.

His predictions for Black Sabbath, Scorpions, Judas Priest were pretty far off.
