Default Who wants to watch (or re-watch) "Lost"

10 year anniversary.....everything old is new again seems like a good enough excuse to finally watch this!

but I think some of the coverage of the 10 year anniversary has just ruined a key plot point for me after all these years of avoiding it

anyway...if we want to group watch...how shall we do it ?

1 or 2 episodes a week on a specific day so that we are all watching at the same time and discuss? now that I've finished Dexter, I have time between Breaking Bad and Mad Men

I think it was the last non-cable network show that I religiously watched.

It could be frustrating at times, and there were a few points in which the series really wandered. But when it was good, it was fucking great.

And I actually liked the ending. Many complain about it, but I thought it was pretty good.

I would join you but I recently watched the series again about 7 months ago. My wife never seen it so I figured it would be cool.

FYI, I never noticed how much people cry in the show until my wife pointed it out. Seriously somebody cries in every episode.

Kate still is annoying. In fact I would put her on the Mount Rushmore of annoying beezatchs with Skylar, Andrea and someone to be named later.

Still a quality show however you definitely can see how much stronger the earlier episodes were. Benjamin Linus is still pretty sweet.

I think half the cast members have migrated to "Hawaii Five-0", so it's kind of like watching "Lost" every week!

I'd rather watch every season of Guiding Light than try and sit through this again.

I am now in the 2nd season of watching Breaking Bad with my wife (I've already watched the entire series).

So far, she doesn't like it. She actually relates to Skyler.

I might divorce her because of it.

Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves. If she still relates to Skyler in seasons 3 & 4, then you will certainly have justifiable grounds for divorce. That is, if your wife continues to watch the show that long.

wow She relates to Skylar....I don't know if that says more about her, or about you LOL

but dang Skylar is a passive agressive bitch I just can't get Walt's wanting to keep her.

I disliked the ending. I'd have really been pissed off if I was one of the contingent of viewers the show drew who obsessed over random plot points that were tossed in, I think pretty evidently now, at random and that were never followed up on. I thought it was best in the two to three seasons just before the last one, pretty much commencing with the announcement around half-way through its run of a terminus date. It was treading water pretty intolerably leading up to that point, hitting its absolute nadir when they devoted an entire episode to explaining how one of the main characters got his tattoo.

There are a couple of the problems I have in watching it now. One, is how intensely I grew to dislike the two main characters (the most compelling character in the whole show is not introduced until well into the shows run). Two, is the extent to which the show relies on its characters' complete lack of curiosity in maintaining plot points. For example, someone will point towards an ominous looking wooded area and say, "I wouldn't go in there were I you", to which the other character would never follow up and ask, "hey, why not?"

If you're going to watch a JJ Abrams connected show, watch Fringe instead (if you haven't already) which despite a rocky start, is far superior.

Lost is one of the great series of all time. Bar none. Some people don't want much from TV. They want to be able to turn on a random episode, know what's going on, and get a resolution.

But TV can be so much more than that, as we've seen with this TV renaissance of which Lost was near the beginning.

Daisy, don't worry about any one key plot point. There is a major plot point that has to do with a famous phrase spoken by the Jack (Matthew Fox) character in the last episode of season 3, and I have seen this particular one quoted in lots of the 10-year coverage. Don't worry. If this is the one you're talking about, I figured it out pretty quickly and it didn't ruin the series for me in the slightest. There's SO much other stuff going on.

While the finale didn't blow me away, it was emotional and interesting and I enjoyed the ride I was on way too much to hate the finale. It was cathartic.

The thing Lost always had against it is that it was a network show. Imagine Lost as a 5-season HBO or AMC show. It would have been even better. But the authors had to fill 22 episodes over the first three seasons and 16 episodes over the final three seasons. Tough to keep the quality going A) over that amount of time, and B) before the end date of the series was negotiated.

I would try to be part of this club, but I cannot guarantee it week after week.

Game of Thrones is great. Even with the floppy weiners

Another problem with LOST is that people figured out what the show was about early on. That forced the creators to mislead us which produced lesser episodes.

I do find it amazing how Ben Linus was supposed to be this minor character with a minor actor. However Michael Emerson did such a great job with him, he is now set for life and won't ever have a problem finding a role.
