    Default Wolfgang issues - resolved

I wanted to share in my experience here so that just in case others are having the same problem they can view this for a reference.

First I want to apologize to some of the members for the continuous PMs, but I appreciate your help and patience.

Upon bringing the wolf to the tech for the first time, he set the bridge parallel to the body. This made the strings fairly high off the fretboard, so he put in a shim. I was a bit upset since I've heard a lot of guys claim the PV wolf can have great factory low action, but I carried on.

Then was the bridge PU issue. ALL OVER THE INTERNET is the claim that the Peavey has the hottest of the 3 EVH models, but it was clear that compared to a store MIC special and my axis, the bridge was noticeably weaker.

I noticed a lot of ebay pictures of wolfies for sale, that had the bridge angled downward into the body, thus lowering the strings. For the hell of it, I took off the floyd, screwed the posts down 1 full turn and what do you know, I was able to remove the shim AND the bridge pickup got it's power back!

The floyd comes back in perfect tune, despite being on a bit of angle, and the guitar plays and sounds its best ever. Clips will be coming in the following days. Sorry for the rambling, just very excited the guitar is working as it should

What kind of tech would set a Wolfgang up like that?

You should be able to have the bridge parallel with good low action. Something still seems off. But at least it's playable now for you and you're happier.

Let me clarify what I mean with pictures. I think with the archtop it is hard to see what exactly parallel is.

This is similar to how mine used to be
you can see the top of the bridge over the body.

Turning the screws down lowered it to this

no metal is really peeking over the body.
