After standing off and on in line for hours Ed finally came downstairs to play a few licks for the people there. There was a huge crowd standing around btw. He was suposed to play from 1:00 - 3:00 and after sitting around picking his toes upstairs came down at 2:55.

He had shorts on and longer hair again. Didn't look to healthy and decided not to give autographs after people had wrapped the whole booth in a line. Around 4:00 he waived to everybody as the Peavey reps said he wouldn't be signing anything. At least I got a picture with Steve Lukather & Dick Dale today...

Sorry, I didn't want to give up my spot in line so I don't know exactly what he was playing. I wish Peavey could have told everybody he wouldn't be signing anything today as there must have been 300 people in line for an autograph.

He's just really camera shy anymore. Every other guitarist there walks around, stops, shakes hands, signs autographs and will take a picture with you.

I personally don't think he looked the best but that's just my opinion. He just had longer hair but pretty similar to the way he did at the LAPD golf tourny.

EDDIE WAS THERE ????????????????????????
If the answer is YES
COOL
EVH: Definitely. Playing guitar was my sanctuary. It was the one place I could go to if I got fucked around by a girlfriend, or anyone else, for that matter. It still is. If thereís something I canít deal with, I can just spend hours playing. Itís a God-given gift Ė I certainly donít know where the ideas come from. Theyíre obviously given to you, and you have to keep your fingers moving and your mind quiet. I try my best to not think about thinking, so I can just let it flow. Because when I start thinking, forget it. <br />So....why he isn't playing guitar ? ? ?

Maybe it's just time to say goodbye, and let the man rest in peace. I'm telling ya, if there isn't any news as of the anniversary, then I truly beleive Ed has become what most of us are: Content to jam once in a while, but other things need the utmost attention, whatever they may be...

Sounds kind of disappointing but at least the man showed up. I agree with what jalepeno is saying, if Van Halen can't resurect themselves for the bands 25 year anniversary I don't think they ever will. Here's hoping Ed is doing well, the music comes a distant second to the mans health and personal life.

From this post, I don't get a good vibe out of this whole NAMM incident.

I know Ed's shy.

But he also said, speaking about Kurt Cobain: "if you don't want to sell records and be famous, then just play music in your garage and never release anything."

I agree. I think this is the end of =VH=.

Wow, I went from being excited about Sam's announcement to this in a day. Sorry if I'm coming off too melancholy, it's just so sad seeing this happen.

dude, signing stuff is not hard work. By no means. It may not be great "fun", but it's not a painful job. I was on tour before, I've done it (of course not to the extent those guys have), it's no big deal. Other bands do it. It's a little bit like being polite, walking someone back to the door after they've visited your place.
I'm a huge Halen fan, but the pattern of behaviour we've seen going on...

well, I just don't even want to continue... I still have too much respect for the musical legacy of VH.

On a somewhat optimistic note, maybe he didn't want to answer a million questions about a reunion w/ Dave/Sam
