Default Most Popular VH Songs on YouTube

It's strange to me that, if you search "van halen" on YouTube and sort by view count, one of the most popular songs is "Can't Stop Lovin' You." There are a few different versions uploaded, each with a view count of over a million. ""Don't Tell Me" and Love Walks In" are also pretty popular. Of course, "Jump" and "Eruption" are the most popular by far.

Anyway, I never realized that CSLY was all that popular.

I should mention that I am searching using the iPad app, so maybe my results aren't the same as on a non-Apple platform.

Well VH3 is the top searched studio album so I don't think any of those results mean shit.
    .
    .
    .
VH with Dave ('78-'84) - The best years....the "real" VH.
VH with Sam ('86-'96) - Incredible era....."We have renamed this town 'New Halen!'.
VH with Gary ('98) - Fucking disaster. WTF was that??
VH with Wolf/Dave ('12-'15) - Amazing comeback. Smokin' album and tours.

Probably because people aren't sure VH3 actually exists. "Bigfoot" is a popular search on YouTube too.

But that is a very unscientific way to measure popularity. Sorting by views on Youtube means nothing, as videos are constantly being taken down for some reason, seemingly at random. (I'm sure it's not literally RANDOM, but it seems like it). Some VERY popular videos with lots of play counts disappear forever, while others stay online.

If you want a fair way to measure popularity, sort by "bestsellers" on iTunes.

Here's there top 15 sorted by popularity:

    1) Jump
    2) Hot For Teacher
    3) Panama
    4) Right Now
    5) Everybody Wants Some!!
    6) You Really Got Me
    7) Running with the Devil
    8) Dance The Night Away
    9) You Really Got Me
    10) Unchained

BTW, "Can't Stop Lovin' You" is #54.

Why is "You Really Got Me" on the list twice? Also, that is only ten.

Songs can be counted more than once if they are on more than one album. YRGM is on 2 or 3 albums. (VH1 and Greatest Hits comps).

Other than Jump, CSLY is probably the most famous VH song in Brazil.

This is probably because of the extensive MTV coverage they received during the BOV1 days. The video was very popular.

Scientific Proof that Van Hager did not hold up as well as VH1. It is not just me that no longer listens to Mid 80's + 90's VH.

Yes, iTunes provides definitive empirical proof.

Yeah, the iTunes thing might be more accurate. However, I remember hearing about a study/survey that found that, by far, the primary method that most kids use today for listening to music is YouTube. So, I think YouTube hits are probably a pretty good gauge of popularity.

I teach high school, and I can tell you first hand that most kids who like VH, and there are a LOT, don't give a shit about the Roth/Hagar thing. They just like it all.

    This is awesome.

I bet that part of "liking it all" will make some butthurt because it just might mean that one era will not be seen as the "best era" anymore. It will just be Van Halen. Cue up Imagine!

Hmmm...Very similar to my list of songs I never need/want to see them play live again.
