Default Sammy Hagar& Vince Neil Tour?

Whatever the real reasons are for Motley Crue‘s impending retirement, Vince Neil says fans can count on him to keep on “carrying the torch” for the band’s music. And it looks like he’ll be doing it from the road soon, as part of a co-headlining tour that will include Sammy Hagar.

Neil shared the news during a recent interview with Vegas Rocks! Magazine (via Blabbermouth), responding to the question of his post-Crue plans by saying, “I have my own stuff. I have my solo band, and we have a lot of touring coming up. And actually, it looks like me and Sammy Hagar are gonna go out together for a long tour next year. I’ll be carrying the torch for Motley Crue when Motley Crue is done.”

As for Crue drummer Tommy Lee‘s recent comments suggesting the band’s demise was caused by guitarist Mick Mars‘ failing health, Neil shrugged, “I don’t know why Tommy would say that. It really had nothing to do with Mick’s health. It was just because we all felt — at least me and Nikki [Sixx] and Mick — felt that it was just we didn’t wanna go out on the bottom. We didn’t wanna be one of those bands that start fading away. We’ve been on top for 32 years, and it’s great. And it’s just like, you know what? By the time we finish this tour, it’ll be 35 years of Motley Crue. So … that’s really kind of it.”

Does that mean you’ll never see Motley Crue again? Don’t bet on it. “I could probably see us play way down the road,” admitted Neil. “A concert here or concert there, maybe — but we’re not, like, doing the Kiss farewell thing, where they have their fifth farewell tour.”

Was that a dig at Kiss? Maybe I've been wrong about Vince. Nah...he's a goober.

I can only think of maybe a thousand artists I would rather see than Vince Neil solo.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Saw him when he opened up for Van Halen. Steve Stevens was on guitar so at least that was exciting.

Who would actually close the show on this tour I wonder? Surely Sammy must have a bigger pull solo-wise than Vince Neil. But maybe I'm wrong.

Maybe Sam would be ok with alternating, like on the Sam and Dave tour. I personally don't think Vince solo rates the co-headlining status.

If Sammy came to a venue within a reasonable distance from here, I'd go. However, with Vince Neal? I'm not so sure. There'd need to be better enticement than that.

Sammy needs to do Firefly or the Sammyfest thing I suggested a while back. Even an actual Montrose tour with Satch would be great. But not Vince Neal.

Doesn't Vince play to half full clubs at this point when he is solo. Or mid set at a 80s hair band summer festival with Trixter or Slaughter...lol....

Sammy would have to headline all dates if they are even playing midsize or small venues.

Three Motley Crue shows under my belt since 2006, I've seen more of Vince Neil than I would prefer, honestly. Easily Motley Crue's weakest link, has been since he rejoined the band.

I hate Vince Neil. Let me just get that out of the way. I'm not terribly fond of KISS, either.

Really, though, Vince? KISS have only done ONE farewell tour and, if memory serves, didn't Motley join KISS very recently for "THE" tour?

I would enjoy the show but would not be excited to see it if Sam opened. Dave closed the 2002 show in Raleigh, for me it sucked to see Sam when the sun was up and have him leave at about 8:30. A summer day listening to VN as I'm getting to my seat to settle in for 2 hours of the "best of Hagar" sounds good to me. The other way around... Not so much.

somehow I've managed to see vince in concert 3 times, once in 93 (which wasn't bad at all), once I got free tickets and went with my brother.....it was "OK", he did all motley crue songs....maybe he did "you're invited but your friend can't come" and then I saw him a few years back when he co-headlined with Ratt on some hairband thing..he was terrible,.

no desire to ever see him again.

I'd see sam in a heart beat, he never puts on a bad show in my area.

If he'd stop skipping words constantly maybe he wouldn't be so bad...but all three times I saw him with Motley that's all he did.
