I've searched around the internet to no avail, so I'll ask here. Does anyone have a link to VH playing Source of Infection live? Is it possible that they just never played it live since it wasn't a huge hit?

I think I have it on my 5.28.1988 bootleg. I'll have to check.

I have the Miami boot and I don't think the whole song was played. I think Ed played the intro in the beginning of his solo.

My friend's dad said he once saw Van Halen (with Hagar) during the OU812 tour at Alpine Valley. And considering Source of Infection is my favorite Hagar era song, he's a lucky dude.

i have that boot also. Ed plays the intro during his solo but not the whole song. i didn't think they ever played that one live. if they did, that seems like it would be really hard on Sam's voice.

S of I... love the intro... Mike's harmonies are fantastic...

But this was the beginning of exposing the limits of Sam's lyrical ideas.

Musically it was I'm the One and Hot for Teacher... nearly a parody ... maybe a medley of the best of some classic VH musical moments.

I will grant you that it does have a great energy to it.

    Cheers.

Really? This song just represents VH having fun. Not every song has to be Mine All Mine, Right Now, or the Seventh Seal. Oh well, I dig it all.

The music just flat out rocks!

Source of Infection always gave me the "Sinner's Swing" vibe.

Can anyone who plays guitar confirm that the riff is the same?

    I do love the music.

I also agree with the $%@# sandwich post.

My only complaint lays in the fact that when so few people can put out music to the masses... it's a really a privilege... so WHY... why on God's green earth wouldn't you write some freakin' great lyrics for this?

    Too busy?

What else did someone have going that was more important?

You have an amazing opportunity to put a mark in this amazing space... one of only 9 original spots on one album from a legendary band with some of the highest caliber of musicians on the planet... and thats what you come up with?

☆⌒(>。≪) "Hello operator? Give me quality control... and fast!"

(hey, that might have been a better lyric right there!

Other than that... fantastic track and stellar performance by EVH, AVH, & MA.

Wished they'd given that one to Mitch Malloy.

    imho,
