    Who's moving where?

Are the Red Sox (the Champs) going to unload a lot of key players?

Who is the favorite to win the World Series in 2014?

Is your favorite team going to make the playoffs in 2014?

NY Yankees will not be better until they figure out their pitching and also start getting younger.

It will be interesting to see if the World Series teams can repeat their 2013 success.

Ever since the Cubs fell into a black hole these last several years, I end up hating the offseason more and more.

Whoever manages the Cubs will fail, unless we begin spending money. But I hear we just interviewed Eric Wedge, so that's something

Who is going to win the World Series in 2014? The Cubs of course!

    HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I'll keep dreaming now. We are looking at another 90 loss season unless Theo and Co actually get some decent players.

Yeah, none of the Cubs managerial candidates excite me. Hopefully they can catch lightning in a bottle with whoever they hire, but ultimately we need people who can actually play baseball before we can think about competing, no matter who is managing.

I have a gut feeling that Ellsbury will stay in Boston. They will also add another big bat. And get a top starting pitcher.

St. Louis is young and built for years of success, perhaps need one impact bat as well.

and hopefully A-Roid watches the season from home.

The Cardinals are looking to upgrade at SS, so with their glut of young starting pitching, they are natural fits for a Jurickson Profar trade with the Rangers. The Cardinals have been connected to Profar for the last 14 months, so at this point I'm not seeing it as likely--if the pieces were there and available already, there's no way Pete Kozma is starting in the World Series.

At the same time, they are looking to upgrade in CF and possibly 3B, depending on what happens with Freese. Rumor is that he still has a drinking problem and, despite his hometown heroics, is on the way out. But then again, those are just rumors. Beltran looks to be gone since they will only offer the one-year qualifying offer to get the compensation pick.

The Cardinals do have Oscar Tavares, who is one of the top rated prospects in baseball. However, he was injured for most of the year and may not be ready for the transition to RF next year. There was some hope that he could play center, but that appears to be more fantasy than reality at this point.

St. Louis does have the possibility to have a lineup with 6 of the 8 starters playing in a different position or being a different player altogether. If Freese leaves, then Carpenter can move to 3rd (where he started his career), Wong can play 2nd, Craig can play RF, Adams can play 1st, and there would be potentially new acquisitions in SS and CF (or filled with prospects).

Pitching wise, it may simply come down to who do the Cardinals want to keep and where do they want them to play. Rosenthal and Martinez both want to start, but the Cardinals already have Miller, Lynn, Garcia, Wacha, Wainwright, and Kelly available for those spots.

Giants need 2 starting pitchers, 1 Power bat in LF and a reliever or 2.

My "White Whale" dream signing would be the Japanese pitcher Tanaka. Possibly Darvish 2.0 The $50 mil posting fee will make it so only the Big spending teams have a chance.

So far the Giants have shown they are willing to spend CASH to keep up with the big spenders like LAD, Bos, Philly, NYY, Texas, LAA, ect...

    Lineup right now

    CF - Pagan
    2B - Scutaro
    1B - Belt
    C - Posey
    RF - Pence
    3B - Sandoval
    LF - ??
    SS - Crawford

Cain and Bumgarner are a solid #1 and #2 starters. Lincecum is a ? at #3. They still need to find #4 and #5.

Also just a FYI if any of you guys like "BASEBALL" Sports talk radio.

The "Brian Kenny Show" on NBC Radio is probably the best. Hell, it probably one of the only National shows that actually talks baseball. Most of you guys know Brian Kenny from the MLB Network and also when he used to be on ESPN.

It is on from 9am to 12pm Eastern Time (EST). You can listen LIVE here: http://nbcsportsradio.com/

They also have it "On Demand" so you can listen to any past show any time by just clicking. No commercials is the best part.

    ++++

On a side note, Brian Kenny is also the best follow on Twitter for Baseball news and analysis.

    Read my first rumor today:

The Cardinals are asking about Starlin Castro and the Cubs are wanting a deal centered around Martinez, Miller, or Tyrell Jenkins and possibly a shortstop. This was from a site called chicagonow.com

I'm highly skeptical about this one. First, the Cardinals have three cost controlled, potential top of the rotation guys in that group, while Castro has already signed his long term big money deal. Second, twhile he is still young, Castro is a bum. Sure, he puts up numbers and flashes of brilliance, but the guy is a complete knuckle head when it comes to fundamentals and keeping his head and heart into the game. The Cardinals have shown wariness when it comes to acquiring guys like that, instead focusing on high character and good clubhouse guys, and the results speak for themselves.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

That is a pretty wild made up rumor.

As we know most rumors don't turn out to be true.

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/ at least pulls them from legit beat reporters. Still most don't happen.

If I am the Cards and I trade a few of those great young pitchers, there better be an all-star SS coming back. I am talking about someone like TULO. Aim high.
