    Default Black and blue solo

Anyone have tips on playing the solo for black and blue. I have looked at a few tabs and watched you tube. The tab reads like there is a tap, slide and pull off. But when I see the video it looks like sliding hammer on's all before getting to the echo bit.

In the Live Without a Net guitar solo...Eddie does that technique for about 2 seconds at around 8:54. I think there is a live vid out there somewhere that shows him playing a longer run (of course the B and B solo has a wider range of the neck tapping/sliding etc.) But, that clip should help a bit. I hope
    Just go for it!

I don't think he's asking about the technique, I think he's asking if Ed really does it in the song and whether the tab is wrong. At least I think that's what he's asking.

I was just working on this solo a couple months ago and wondered the same exact thing. If nothing else, the section in question definitely does not match up with the Tokyo '89 video. What the OP sees is what I saw too.

I haven't seen the tab...but it's surely sliding hammer-ons. It's more a "feel" thing than what a tab can offer. IMO. I mean...your right index finger should already be in a sliding motion before the hammer on and slide up the neck towards the bridge. It's almost like a glide, I guess. It's hard to describe...but it looks like what Eddie does at the time I posted during the LWAN solo time.

I know what you're describing and it's what he does in the Tokyo vid but it's not what the tab shows for this section the OP is asking about. The tab appears to be fucked up in this section from what I recall.

I really miss Wolf Marshall tabbing songs. That dude was incredibly accurate and knowledgeable.

that is actually one of the Ed solos I can play really good and up to speed. I'll work it up sometime this weekend again and post a vid. I kind of go for the feel with that section and it always seems to sound right I suppose. Ed just slides up the neck with both hands and thats what I do on that solo as well.

I'll work it up this weekend.

    Default Black and blue solo

Thanks that would be great...Yes, I am thinking the tab is messed up, does't line up with the you tube video. I have seen a couple of tabs, but this is the one I am thinking about starting at the tap slides.
